Its Official!

We are moving to Dallas at the end of August! DH is still looking for a job (although his bff can get him a crappy pay IT job) but I just got offered a full time yoga teacher position at a studio in Plano! Now to start figuring out how to pack all of our stuff....

    Congratulations!!!!!!

  • If you dont mind me asking what kind of IT work does he do? There are some good paying IT jobs that I know but there many working with VOIP and Broadsoft
  • Congrats!

So which yoga studio? I only know one in Plano, Sunstone and would love to try others, even better if has a Nesti instructor.

NTTA usually posts their vacant positions Tusdays and Thursdays, with lots of promotion oppurtunities.

I'll be teaching at Sunstone Yoga at Park & Preston in Plano! I did my first teacher training with them and they are blasting me through all of the continuing ed I have to do (since I've taught over 500 classes in the last 2.5 years in LA) and I'll be on the schedule beginning in October! I'll also be helping out with the kids yoga (which I think is held at the McKinney studio now).

He does not have an IT degree or certification. DH's best friend works for NTTA and said that there are always openings in IT (especially since DH speaks 5 languages).

FIL is a partner at a law firm downtown & has lots of connections so that would be great too. DH has a BA in international relations and wants to go into consulting/business analyst.

Let me know which classes you end up teaching, I would love to come and try new instructors. I like Sunstone, the only thing that I didn't like so much about it however, was that the classes are extremely structured, it doesn't matter who the instructor is, you go through the same poses. I wish there was at lease a little bit room to vary from one instructor to another.

  • Congrats!!!!

Look forward to trying out a few of your classes! Big Smile

If you didn't know the 2 owners come from a Bikram background and a thought behind a structured class is that it allows you to really learn the alignment of the postures. Have you tried the 84 asanas class? Its long, but not always the same. I know I will be teaching Fire 60 & 90 for the first few months and then teaching earth & wood.
