Happy Monday?

Ugh, so tired.  I dislike Monday's.  We didn't get home until after midnight last night.  Too late!

The weekend was good though.  Derek and Tim had ordered some cycling clothes (so tight!!) off of eBay, and they came in on Friday, so we stopped at Tim's place on our way out to Derek's parent's place.  We hung out with them (and the kitten!) for a while and then made our way.

Saturday was a bit rainy, but we spent some time swimming, playing horseshoes and just hanging out.  Yesterday we took Derek's mom to get a new computer and then spent some time setting up her old files to transfer over.  Which took a surprisingly long time, hence the late arrival home.

Today, grocery shopping and sleeping.  Though I should workout, so maybe that too.

How was everyone's weekend?

Re: Happy Monday?

  • Jumping on the too tired train...

Friday night we went to see Cowboys v. Aliens because it was hot and muggy...worst/best movie I have seen in awhile--I laughed through most of it because of the pure ridiculousness, but it was a good way to spend a sticky evening.  Saturday was fine...I got in an 8 mile run (which means my long runs are getting back where I'd like to keep them) and then we just hung out for the evening.

The best part of the weekend though, was that Ed and I went to the Red Sox/Yankees game last night at Fenway, so we didn't get home until 3am.  But, it was so worth it.  We were six rows back behind the Yankee dugout and it was a great game (although the Yankees lost in extra innings...boo).  It was an awesome anniversary gift!

Today is our actual anniversary, but we aren't really spending it together (whoops).  I am actually going shopping with two friends from school to get some back to school stuff and we are going out to dinner after.  Maybe Ed and I will have dessert when I get home...or maybe we will just fall asleep Stick out tongue

  • Yep, I'm on the tired train too.  Typical Monday though, since I can never sleep on Sunday nights.  We had a fantastic anniversary weekend, with lunch at The Fat Duck on Saturday (I'll post more details separately) and then a relaxing day yesterday with massages at home and a lamb roast for dinner.  The amount of food and wine we consumed over the weekend is a little crazy and we're both feeling a little like slobs.  We were also pretty unproductive though, so now I have a bunch of things/chores I have to get done over the next few days.  It was all worth it though.

  • Good morning all!

H and I had a great weekend!  He was home for an entire week (left this morning) and it was fabulous!  It was the most consecutive days we've spent together for months - I won't see him again for another week and a half at least, and we are missing our anniversary on the 15th though :-(

Anyway, Friday night H met me after work/gym and we barhopped for the night.  Did cocktails and apps at a couple new hotspots, and met up with a friend at a sports bar to watch part of the Sox game.   Saturday we went to morning yoga (H did a handstand, he was so proud!) and then a long walk and breakfast at a great local bakery.  That night, we went to the mall and I got the most beautiful skirt from Club Monaco.  I can't wait to wear it.  Yesterday we slept in, went to Starbucks, and then went to paint pottery together at a clay studio.  It was a lot of fun.  We'll see how our piece turns out though; H's contributions were rather....creative.  Then we picked up my car from the mechanic, went to the gym, visited with a friend at our place, and I made homemade gnocchi for dinner.  All in all, a lovely weekend!

Happy Anniversary to everyone celebrating today and yesterday!

  • I'm also tired this morning. We had a good weekend. We (Kyle) grilled out some pork ribs on Friday night. I was tired starting off the weekend because I fell asleep on the guest bedroom floor while he was outside grilling. I had gone back there to workout. Workout fail.

We had a good farmer's market on Saturday. It was one of our best markets of the season. My mom and my aunt both came into town to go to the market. After the market they stayed in town for a little while and we went out to lunch and then everyone came back to my house. After they left Kyle and I just took it easy and recovered from our early morning.

Yesterday I cleaned the house, did laundry and got in a good workout. Once Kyle got home from work we decided to go into town to watch a movie. We saw Rise of the Planet of the Apes. It was really good. Unfortunately the popcorn was less than stellar. We got the leftover crumbly pieces. If I'm going to waste that many calories on something, I want it to at least be worth it. I was exhausted by the time I went to bed last night but for whatever reason had problems sleeping. Tonight I'm thinking that we'll be eating leftovers and I'll be going to bed early.

  • Good morning, ladies.

We did a bike ride Saturday, then climbed a fourteener yesterday.  There are 54 peaks higher than 14,000 feet in Colorado (I've only summited three of them).  We hiked Quandary Peak, 14,296 feet in elevation.  It took us 4 hours to get to the top, then 3 hours down.  The coolest part was the herd of mountain goats who were hanging around the trail.  At least a dozen of them, including several babies.  They are very cute, and since that trail is so heavily traveled they are used to having humans around.  They walked withn 6 feet or so of us without a care.  It was fun, but I'm definitely feeling the fatigue today.

    Have a great day, everyone!

  • Morning, all. I started the day off right--I forgot my wallet at home! D'oh! No soda or coffee for me today.

Other than that, not a bad day so far. The weekend was nice. We finished our cabinet lining project, I did two runs and we both did a lot of reading, writing and relaxing. Friday night we found our summer shandy and ordered pizza, so that was fun. We both called our families this weekend, which is always fun for me and somewhat torturous for him.

Hoping this week is better than last. Have a great one, ladies.

  • Good morning!

We had an OK weekend. Saturday we went out to run a couple of errands but stopped short of going grocery shopping before Darian had a meltdown.

Yesterday the ILs came over in the afternoon and my parents came over in the evening. ** totally selfish rant ahead **

Can I just say how useless my ILs are? Someone on the July moms board mentioned that "Visitors who just come over to hold the baby are useless!" - well, that's my ILs. They've visited twice now and neither time have they brought anything for us or offered to help out at all. They just sit around like lumps on a log waiting for an opportunity to hold or play with the baby. My parents, every time they come over, they bring food and my mom helps me with a little bit of cleaning as well (and of course they still get lots of quality time with Darian).

Now, I don't want to sound totally entitled... of course no one is obligated to take care of us and I don't *expect* visitors to be maids. But honestly, just a little something would be a nice gesture. I never visit my friends with new babies without at least bringing over a basket of muffins or something. ILs kept saying like, "Oh we thought of bringing you some food, but we didn't know what you wanted to eat..." - yeah thanks, the thought is appreciated, but doesn't really do me much good now, does it? We're exhausted new parents, I'd probably eat rocks if you brought them.

  • Add me to the list of too tired.  This weekend was not very relaxing at all and I couldn't go to sleep last night, so I am really running on empty.  The lack of sleep made me get up late and then there were train delays all over the place, so I got to work 1.25 hours late this morning.  I have my office door closed and I really hope people just leave me alone today.

The GTG in Baltimore on Saturday was awesome.  That was more Nesties than I've ever met at once before.  We also did our IUI Saturday morning and said farewell to Jim's brother and all the kids.

Sunday, we went to brunch for our anniversary.  Sadly, it did not turn out to be the nice experience I had planned.  Jim hated every single thing about it and I ended up crying.  We're ok now.  He just never learn how to pretend to enjoy something for the sake of someone else.  Maybe all guys are like that?

Anyway, I may stay away from The Nest tomorrow and the rest of this week is full of payroll, meetings and prep for our annual board meeting next Monday.  Busy, busy.

ETA:  @ blender -  my sister and I saw Cowboys & Aliens the weekend it opened and loved.  It was totally worth the ticket price to see Daniel Craig's butt in chaps.

  • Tired here too.  Other than the debacle I posted above, it was a weekend full of packing and goodbyes for E, so it was really emotional.  He left at 6am today and I won't see him for 2 months.  2 MONTHS.  I'm sad.

    Now jumping domestically.

Well that was a crazy couple of years.

  • This weekend was alright nothing to exciting. I've been studying for an exam to be come a certified interior designer and it's well kinda boring. I think the best part of this weekend was the awesome BBQ I made last night. It slow roasted for 10 hours and our home smelled amazing.

  • I hate Monday's.

We had a good weekend. Saturday we used our gift certificate from last year and went wine tasting. It was a lot of fun and ended up just being us an another couple, I bought a ridiculous amount of wine, including a double magnum to keep for my 30th birthday.

We also tried a restaurant near the house that we somehow keep forgetting about. Yah, I won't forget the Dungeness Crab ravioli I had any time soon. Yum.

  • Is there room for one more on the tired train? This weekend was exhausting!

    Happy Anniversary 8/8 girls!

Friday night we went to the Jr. livestock auction at the fair.  After the auction we met up with a bunch of J's old rodeo buddies and had way to many beers.

Saturday I had to be at the fair parade at 6:30 am to put our float together and blow up balloons for my bosses DA campaign float. It was super hot, the parade route was really long, and I carried my 3 year old nephew almost the whole way. My arms and back are killing me today. After the parade we took my nephews to the fair to see all the animals then I met up with my mom for our hair appointments.

Sunday I went with J to a diesel truck drag race, it was actually a lot more fun then I thought it would be. After that we went to a going away party for cousin who is moving to Guatemala for 27 months. Then party we went out for a yummy crab dinner!

  • Good morning ladies. As much as I hate Monday's I had my coffee this morning so I'm feeling rather energetic. We had a great weekend and spent lots of quality family time together.

Tonight I'm going grocery shopping right after work. I didn't take anything out for dinner so I'm not sure what to make. Probably something easy. My MIL is watching Olivia today so I may leave a little early since she's not used to watching her all day. Have a great day ladies.

  • Hi ladies.

Well my weekend was also exhausting. We went camping without the boys all weekend, the weather was great, stayed up WAY to late, lots of swimming and being outside.  The only rain we got was Saturday night into Sunday, needless to say it sucked packing up in the rain.

Yesterday after getting home I had a bridal shower so that took all afternoon, and still had to do laundry when I got home.  I was asleep at 9:05 and slept until my alarm went off this morning.

Tonight, I have to stop at Sam's club and get diapers and wipes.  Yay me.

As an FYI, now that I have changed offices, I will not be on that much.  I will try to get on at least once a day, but in my new office, my monitor's are in clear sight. So no hiding my nesting.

Anyhow have a great day ladies, and get some rest!

  • Late to the game but tired as well.

Saturday we went to our friends to watch UFC and ate a bunch of candy.  Didn't get to bed until about midnight and then I woke up at about 2am feeling like I would throw up from all the candy.  I got up until 5am and then went back to bed.

I did get a pretty good speed workout done on the track, though.  That was fun

Today I had my follow up eye appointment and I've been given the go ahead to taper off my eye drops and try my contacts next Monday.  Yay!
