my fiance and i are about to give up and head up to the JOP. AHH! In all my childhood dreams and wishes for my wedding i never imagined that all this stress and worry would be a part of my big day. Disney fails to mention that the "fairy tale" wedding costs an arm and a leg!

So now that i've been forced to give up on my dream wedding due to a low budget and a really large family...i've created a new "dream". I just hope it's not odd/poor etiquette.

First of all, my fiance and i are both virgins...and all we TRUELY care about is getting married and going on the incredible honeymoon! :] Seriously though...

I want to have a ceremony including mine and my fiance's very large family and many friends, but hold out on the reception. I guess my thought is: this day is about our committment and promise to one another and God, as well as our family and friends loving and supporting us and our promise to each other. The ceremony is the important part, and the cheapest part! :]

Is this okay?

It's hard to decide which part of this is the worst. But I'm thinking anyone who doesn't think a Disney wedding would be expensive, probably isn't smart enough to get married.

Re: Beebee C&P

  • What does being a virgin have to do with anything related to the cost of the wedding?
  • and if they're so super religious, why isn't it important for them to get married in a church?
  • I will never understand people who don't realize that weddings can be *gasp* expensive.  Seriously, please crawl out from under your rock and join the rest of us out here.  No, you don't have to SPEND an arm and a leg to get married, but don't tell me you're shocked that it costs a lot of money if you want to have a super dooper fancy wedding.

  • Seems to me that they want to get married just so they can get it on.
