We still have 1/3 of summer left! What are you going to do with it? What are the summer essentials that you still have to check off your list?

Re: Remaining summer plans?
We haven't played in Lake Michigan yet.
Or walked any piers. I'd be fine if we didn't do that one (I turn into a nervous mess, and cling to the kids), but it's on Jim's list.
I haven't baked any fruit pies. Must do.
We've got my 10 year class reunion this coming weekend. We're making a really long weekend of it, and staying at my grandma's. It will be nice just to get out of town and a change of scenery.
I still have to take my pharmacy technician certification test. I'll be scheduling that for some time before the end of the month.
Labor Day Weekend is my family reunion. Plans for that are still up in the air as we don't know H's schedule at the hospital. At the very least K and I will go over for a night or 2.
A trip to the zoo could be fun for the little man, or another trip to the beach.
My Profile
We went to GH this weekend and walked from the State Park along the boardwalk where the Coast Guard memorial is. That has a railing...I was thinking that this will have to be our boardwalk walk for a few more years. I don't feel comfortable with walking the whole path like we used to or the pier. We might be able to bring the double stroller along with a big bag of treats and bribe them to stay seated long enough.
I'm cheating, as I am giving myself until October to do some of these things. It just has to be nice enough to go outside.
Milenium Park
Vacation - yay!!!
Let the kids play in the rain
Buy shaving cream and let the kids play with that outside (then throw them in the pool)
Another trip to Rockford - family trip to shoe store and White Pine trails
Date night at Reds on the River - sit on patio
Take the girls downtown and do the Riverwalk and play on Di Suvero (sp?) swing
FMG - their Great Lakes exhibit was closed during the month of June and then it go too hot, so we haven't been in several months
A couple of more trips to the airport viewing area.
John Ball Zoo (a few more trips once it cools down)
Children's Musuem - I think we can get in free this month with our Zoo membership.
This weekend we're hoping to pick some blueberries and also do a long bike ride out towards Holland.
Next weekend we're off to Virginia to visit our friends.
And the last weekend of August and Labor Day we'll be out west hiking the Grand Tetons and Yellowtone.
All of my plans get cancelled. First Cedar Point, now the lake house. I'm not a super happy camper right now.
We're going to Michigan's Adventure with all of my brothers and sisters and their kids in a few weeks. I'm thinking we'll take T for a half day.
We are taking T to John Ball Zoo in September. Anyone know the "winter" hours? They aren't listed on the website.
Thanks to you guys, I really want to go blueberry picking, so we'll do that soon.
Bike rides.
Lake swims.
That about wraps up my summer.
We are heading to Chicago this weekend for a friend's wedding. Henry is staying in GR with my sister so it is just Mike and me. It should be fun.
We have to spend one more weekend at Mike's parent's house.
Camping in Petoskey the last weekend in August
Hopefully, Labor day weekend will be at my parent's cottage
A couple nights on Mackinac Island. We are using the Celebration Michigan package - pretty good deal at the Grand Hotel.
I really want to get to FMG. I have never been and think it would fun.
The only "must do" that I can think of is a Whitecaps game. We're doing that on Wednesday.
Other than that, I think we've done pretty good at enjoying the summer. Probably more trips to the beach and bike rides will be in the future. And we're talking about kayaking.
Oops, Whitecaps for us too. I think on the 24th for us.
These are by far my favorite things to do in the summer. And get ice cream. And run through the sprinkler with Henry.
Sorry your other plans fell through.
Running through the sprinklers is on the list for next year. Yay for grass!
So far, Tennyson hates the sprinkers. I'm hoping that changes soon. He also hates water coming from the shower head, so I'm not holding out much hope.
