FedEx Field seating

DH and I are thinking about going to the first preseason game on Friday. We're looking at tickets in sections 219, 220, and 224- they seemed like decent spots and weren't super expensive. However, it says, "obstructed view" on every seat we've looked at. It doesn't seem like they would be that bad- just under the overhang, unless that would get in the way. They are rows 20 and 21, if it matters.

Does anyone know if those sections are that bad? I tried to look on their website, but the "view from your seat" part never loads for me. I tried calling them, but couldn't wait longer than 5 minutes. I'll try again at lunch, but thought I'd ask you all first. TIA!

Re: FedEx Field seating

  • I have season tix in Section 224.  I think I'm in row 14.  It's under the overhang.  When they punt the ball, you lose it until it starts to come back down.  Otherwise, we can see the field fine, but we can't see all of the scoreboard.  There is also a TV right above us, which helps.  I'm not sure if it would be harder to see further back. Rows 20 and 21 are probably close to the last rows in that section.

Depending on the seat, there could be another possible obstruction.  There are large concrete columns that support the overhang.  And yes, Snyder sold the seats directly behind those columns.  I don't know if there is anyway to check the particular seats you are considering, but I would definitely ask the seller.  Because your view would seriously be obstructed if you were behind one of those.

If you're in a row behind the column (and 20 and 21 would likely be) even if your seat isn't behind the column, you may also have some of your view of the field obstructed by the column depending on where you sit.  I'm not sure.  Try to get close to an aisle and you should be fine from that perspective - same with being behind a column.

  • Thanks, that's helpful to know. That's really crappy of him to sell tickets directly behind the columns. I'm sure they weren't that discounted either.... I think we're just going to forget about it, since it is just preseason after all. Thanks for the help though!
