So DS had surgery on Friday. He slept a lot on Friday a good little bit on Saturday and Sunday he seemed to be to his old self.
As I stated on another post, last night he went to bed at 11 slept till 5 ate, gave him pain medicine and went back to sleep by 6am. Then I called DH and he was still asleep by 9. He woke up, DH changed him and fed him cereal and applesauce and the kid was out again and slept till 11. Then I guess he wouldn't take a bottle, just spit up and went back to sleep.
The last 3 weeks, this kid hasn't slept at all and now I'm stressing out that he is sleeping too much. DH says he doesn't feel warm to the touch and he could just feel a little under the weather.
DH thinks I'm worrying too much because he is a baby, did just have surgery 3 days ago and could just be tired.
Thoughts/opinions? I guess I'm overly concerned because of post-surgery and this is a drastic change compared to Sunday's behavior. If he slept hard core all weekend, I would think nothing of it.
Re: Am I being too worried?
Yep, sounds like a little anesthesia hangover. Pedi will prob ask for a temp, so have one handy when you call. I hope it's nothing more
I would call to be sure, but he might just be tired. Or, he might be having a growth spurt that just happens to coincide with the timing of the surgery. My boys slept a ton when they were about to have a growth spurt.
(somewhat related, I've been meaning to ask you if you were at Children's Friday. I swore I saw your H in a room in CARES on our way to Ruby's room.)
Thanks ladies. He is up and DH sent me a video of DS laughing. I guess he just wanted to sleep a lot. Amazing how they worry us so at times. I think it concerns me more just because he can't talk.
Yep! We were there on Friday from 6am-1pm. I think we were in room 4 or 5. something like that.
It's such a small world! We were there from 6:30 - 9:45am.
Glad to hear he's feeling better. What was the surgery for, if you don't mind saying?
