S/O: Potty

What "potties" do all of you recommend?  I've seen some that make noise, some that are basic - what did you all use?   Like Shea referenced in the previous post - did anyone find a better one for boys vs. girls?  Thanks!!

Re: S/O: Potty

  • numberous friends speak highly of the bjorn ones but they all have girls?!  :)
  • we had the elmo one that congratulates the child, and a friend lent us a singing duck potty.  the singing duck (sorry, don't know brand, but i would guess you could recognize it) was far superior.  much easier to clear, more comfortable, etc.

  • I plan on getting one that just goes over the regular potty, I don't want to clean one out, and what if the noses the potty makes freaks her out?
  • See if you can find some used, and have options.  DS hated the small potties.  He only wanted to use the regular toilets, since that's what we used.  So we have 2 inserts we had him sit on.  Both have the little pee "tent" for boys, but we just taught early on to point it down.  :)

  • We have the Elmo one that All-His mentioned but didn't use a ton, just a little in the beginning. Then we transitioned to the seat that goes over the potty because her little buns are so tiny and she was concentrating so hard on holding herself up that she couldn't go potty. :) Now she just sits on the regular toilet.

  • We had the FP singing potty, but it would just go off randomly and continue.  We had to turn it off.  The little pee guard flips down which is kind of a hassle.  We then bought the FP frog potty.  It is high enough in the front that he doesn't always need to point it.  Easy to clean and I think it  was like $13.
