Droid users -app ?

I got DH an Android Incredible 2 for his b-day.  I know nothing about Droid apps - but is there a good one for traffic?  Anyone know?

Besides games and fun stuff, what other apps do you use a lot on your Droid?

Wife, Musician, Fed, WW-er, and Mom of three little kids - not necessarily in that order.

Re: Droid users -app ?

  • I like Toddler Lock in a pinch - it shuts down the phone options and is essentially like a Lite-Brite meets Etch-a-Sketch for those stuck-somewhere-about-to-meltdown moments.

  • Google maps has a layer for traffic.  It's pretty reliable.  Even for teeny back roads they have the data, which makes me laugh.

It shows green, yellow, red and my hubby's least fav the "black and red snake of death" depending on how slow it's going.

I use facebook,  DC Metro, spotcycle (for bikeshare locations), yelp, open table, the weather channel, bar code scanner, Queue man (netflix), kayak, card star (for loyalty cards), skype (voice only), trip advisor, and Docs (google docs).

  • Ditto Julie about the google maps thingy.

On a regular basis I use Fail Trombone, Zombie Booth, Tip Calculator, Grocery IQ, Note Everything, Bank of America, facebook, Random Trivia and Stupid Zombies (similar to angry birds, except with zombies.)

The Barcode Scanner is pretty convenient too.  Last year in Target there was a book I wanted to get someone for Christmas, but the cover was all munged up, so I scanned the barcode and it pulled up amazon and I ordered the same book (but a few dollars cheaper) right then and there.

  • I got some great reccs when I posted a similar query here and on MM. Here are the links:

Also, I think your DH will love the phone. I'm completely addicted to mine.
