Question about photography classes

I saw today's photography class Groupon and it looks fun, but I am wondering if you have to have a "real" camera rather than just a point and shoot. Would it even be worth it with a point and shoot?

Re: Question about photography classes

  • I've read you can do some manual control (maybe ISO, not sure about manual shutter speed or aperture) on a point and shoot, but from the description you would probably get more out of it with a DSLR since you have more manual options using that.  And part of the lesson is on lenses and you can't change the lense on a PAS.  I don't think it would be worth it with a PAS
