Directv vs. Dish Network
Not positive this is the right board for this, but it's my best guess! I currently have Directv but am thinking about switching to Dish. I'm happy with directv, but it looks like Dish is a good amount cheaper. Who out there has Dish network (or has had both before) and have you had a good experience? Thanks!

We have had Dish for two years and like it. We bundle Windstream internet with it and pay I think about $120 total, we have the Americas Favorite 200. The reception will go out for a little while in a really bad storm but it always comes back on in a short period of time. Overall no complaints. Customer service was receptive with the two issues we had at the beginning (#1, they had to come back out to move the dish to the back of the house, my lovely husband let them put it smack dab on the front of our house, which is not only unattractive but an HOA no-no, and #2, it started losing reception quite frequently after it was moved, they came out on a sunday at no charge to us to fix it).
IMO I HATE Directv so much. They would not accept me as a customer because they said that my H owed them money from 2001. My H was 10 years old in 2001 so clearly they were incorrect unless they let kids sign contracts.They refused to copt to it and said I was lying. Their customer service is horrible and they were very rude.
I currently have Dish. I think that they are awesome.
