I wanted to Introduce myself ...
Hi there,My name is Zoe and I am an English woman married to an American Soldier. Currently we live in Germany but in (hopefully as long as my visa comes through) 8 weeks we should be arriving in Columbia, South Carolina. My husband is Texan and has lived in North Carolina but this will be the first time either of us has been to SC. We are absolutely ecstatic as he is about to be a Drill Sgt for 3 whole years and well in the 5 years we've been together the longest time we've ever been in the same country is 7 months so this is a really exciting for us both. He just got back after his third deployment and we are excited to start a new chapter, buy a house and start a family. I am (or was) a Art Dealer specializing in Contemporary photography in London but since moving to Germany have become a Les Mills Body Combat Instructor so am looking forward to getting to Columbia and hopefully doing both. Well i just wanted to say hi and hopefully i will get to know a few of you !! I am really excited to be apart of this community.

Wow, what a job change for you! Hopefully you find something equally as enjoyable in SC.
Welcome to the board, I'm Stan.
The Dogs and Us
Welcome! I grew up in Columbia, SC. Just send me a message if have any questions about the area. I loved Columbia however, it is 10 degrees hotter in Cola than in any other part of SC. I still have really good friends that live there and I am usually up there a couple of times during the fall for Gamecock Football.
Good luck with the move and with the visa process. It can take awhile for those to go through but there should be no issue with you getting yours.
Hi! I'm A, and my husband is in the Air Force. We actually just moved from England to the Columbia, SC area!
We can look for clotted cream together and make scones! Good luck with your visa, I know from moving to England that it can take some time.
yes becoming an Army wife and moving to the countryside in Bavaria was quite a culture shock!
I am hoping i can either get back into photography and if not i'll concentrate fully on fitness and health.
Thank you for the welcome - its nice to meet you stan.
thank you for the offer - i may take you up on that! I have heard that not only is it sunny (to which i am extremely happy about ) its also very humid (this not so happy about) but i figure here in Germany i have 9 months of winter so we are coming to a much better place.
We started my visa work 10 weeks ago and heard nothing ......... its getting to the panic stage as possibly my husband will have to leave in 4 weeks and well that means im stuck in Germany jobless, homeless, carless and husbandless.
I really hope they sort the visa stuff out soon.
Hi A,
Where in England were you? did you enjoy your time there?? Do you know if there are any shops in SC that stock English foods etc?? I love scones and clotte cream :P
thank you for the luck - we really need it!!
