Just got back from the dealership and I'm getting... *drum roll*... a 2012 Honda civic coupe! I'm so excited! I've never owned a new car before, just hand-me-downs. We were able to get a good deal on it, and the car is coming straight from the factory. It should be here next week!

I got Rally Red. It was honestly the only option. Honda is having a bit of a hard time right now getting parts with the earthquake in Japan and all. Plus, I wanted a manual transmission, which is very hard to find without getting it built right now. I love driving a stick shift car, and since I got to pick my car this time, I was not going to budge on my one requirement: manual transmission. My car will be built by the end of the week and hopefully arriving, fresh from the line, next week sometime. It was already in production, so I couldn't choose the color, but I don't care too much about the color of my car. The red is really sharp, though!
Oh, and p.s.: when I told my mom that it was a coupe, guess what the first thing she said was?
..."Alex, that's not a good idea. You'll have this car when you have kids and there's no way you can get a car seat in and out of the back of a coupe. I think you should reconsider, call them back, and get a four door instead."
Ugh! No offense to anyone having kids now, but I am sooooo not ready for that. And honestly, the back seats have tons of room and the front seats slide up so much I really don't think it'll be a problem.
HAHAHAHA! You're totally right...but that's totally the reason I'm using on DH to try and get ME a new car! ;-) However, I have had my car for 10 years and it's been paid off for about 5. It's time for something different...right?!?!? :-)
Congrats on the new car though! Enjoy it! :-)
Coming from Poland, where everyone drives stick, it was cool to be able to tell people (especially DH when we met) that I can drive stick. Now that I have driven automatic transmission for over two years, I am loving it. My sister who just moved here laughs that Americans are lazy drivers with the auto-trans and cruise control - two things she never used before in Poland
Enjoy your new car

That is so cool!! And they are building it just for you!!
Congratulations.
Make sure you post some photos.
Meeeeh that would bug me too; what your mom said! Good grief! Enjoy yourself a bit before you worry about a baby that you are not even attempting to conceive yet!
Red will be sassy for sure, and congrats on picking exactly what YOU wanted :-)
It will smell soooo great when you get into for the first time...best feeling, being the first to ever drive your car.
Yay for you!
