When does St. W start school?
I was looking through Maren's student handbook online- I never realized how much there was to "worry" about with a uniform- sock colors, shoes, etc.
Tied the knot: 6.19.04
Mommy to 3 awesome kids: Maren 3/06, Tommy 12/07 amd Kolbe 8/09
Re: Shannie
LOL! They start on the 24th (half day). I can't imagine all the 'rules' there are for girl uniforms...shorts, pants, skorts, skirts, jumpers all being the 'correct' length..they are big on it at St Wenc.
Shoes are are biggest complaint..they MUST be 90% white, and the other 10% can only be black/pink/blue/grey...nothing 'neon' and they have to also tie or velcro, no slip ons....you know how hard it is to find and then keep clean, 90% white shoes.
When does M start?
The 18th- 1/2 day.
I didn't see the 90% white rule for us but they do have the no slip-on and must buckle, tie or velcro. So hard!
Of particular concern is the no nail polish, jewlery, etc. Maren is obsessed with bracelets right now.
The white shoe rule was new last year with the new principal. He did not like the fact that kids were coming to school with skulls and bones on their shoes, crazy neon colors and patterns, etc. which I can agree with, but I think the 90% white is a little much...I think he could have said shoes need to be white or black with no characters/shapes/patterns/neon colors and that would have been fine. I'm not sure what the nail polish, jewelry, rule is, but I'm sure its the same. I think no make up either, which I think is perfectly fine.
We did get a letter the other day letting us know that the 'new trend of feather's in the hair' will not be allowed. LOL! I wonder if that applies to moms as well....
