Clicky Poll: Tattoo

A little bored this afternoon and the tattoo post got me thinking.........[Poll]

Re: Clicky Poll: Tattoo

  • I voted No... i dont have one and don't plan on getting one, but sort of want one... the reason i have no plans to get one is because i dont know what i would get or where i would get it, so i'm thinking I'll never do it.

    I'm right there with you!

AND .... CONGRATS!!!! I had no idea!

  • I have two. I don't regret them, but I wish the one on my leg/ankle was in a different spot. I was 18 and drunk when I got it. Not really a good time to make a decision about something that will be with me until I die.

We are too but I love them on other people.

I had an intricate design worked out for years but could never commit.  DH is anti-tattoo so I guess I'm glad I didn't do it. (And it would have been a tramp stamp).

I'm glad DH never got one.  It'd probably be a Republican flag or a Lone Star bottle and then I couldn't have married him.

  • I don't regret mine, I wish I had more but I work for a conservative company and I don't think wearing long sleeves every day is appealing to me.

    this exactly

FIL has a big state of Texas colored in like the Texas flag.  Zip it!

  • I have always wanted one, but have never gotten one because I worried I would tire of the design.  I get bored easily.  DH is anti-tattoo, but that wouldn't stop me from getting one.  Lately I've been seriously considering getting something mathematics or physics-related on the inside of my wrist, maybe Euler's Identity, Feynman Diagram, something involving golden ration...

LOL - That wouldn't actually bother me at all.  I love Texas.  I love our flag. I love our lone star attitude in many ways - just not lone star beer.  Or any other beer bottle tattoo.  I'm an equal opportunity anti-beer bottle tattoo girl.

    This exactly!

  • DH has a lovely flag with a banner that reads, "Southern Boys."  Tongue Tied
    Lilypie Angel and Memorial tickers
  • No and don't plan on getting one.  I have a crazy fear of needles; I get dizzy and turn white at the sight of one (yes, I have 2 kids- ironic isn't it?)

A group of gfs and I went to NOLA for Mardi Gras during college and I was the only one who didn't get one because I fainted.  Ick!

My bf in college's initials were letters on the periodic table. She had the elements drawn out and tattooed on her.

  • I have 3 and don't regret any of them. I took my time figuring out what I wanted and drew them myself and brought them to the tattoo artist. Hubby has 4. 1 is a purple heart tattoo he wants to add to, another is the Marine Core EGA and then he has a memorial tattoo on his chest and a lame Indian on his shoulder blade that he got when he was really young... guess which one I don't like lol.
  • I don't have any. I've thought about it (for about a total of 20 seconds in my life) but can't think of anything I'd want to keep with me forever on my body. The 20 seconds of my life was thinking of something cute i could get that would represent my two kids that i'd get somewhere no one would see. but what represents a 4 year old and a 16 month old? maybe when they're older!??! i dunno.

DH has two pretty big ones on both of his arms (upper arms, usually covered by his shirt sleeve). one is a firefighter symbol (i think a maltese cross but can't even think) that says "professional firefighter" and the other is a helmet with blue flame wrap around. under his arm (raise his arm up) it says 343- the # of firemen that died on 9/11. he got that one the day after i first talked to him on the phone.

i use to laugh at him and say "well thank God if someone finds you passed out somewhere, they'll know you're a professional fireman". Confused

Is it weird that I'm sort of insanely jealous of this?

  • my DH is also anti-tattoo... oh well!

i tire of things easily, but have never gotten tired of the tattoos.  they kind of become part of your body that you're used to seeing.

if i get closer to a goal weight/shape that involves less backfat, i would love to have something in the between-the-shoulderblades area.

  • I voted NO.

I think art is for hanging on a wall, not my skin. Plus I change my mind roughly every 5 seconds..so I would regret it instantly.

    DH doesnt have any either.

  • I have 4 and plan on getting another sometime this year.
  • I have 1 and would have more if I could decide what I want.  :)  DH has no objections to ME having them, but he has none himself.

The one I do have has a lot of significance to it.  My BFF and I have matching tattoos in different colors (mine blue/green, hers pink/purple) and we had them done together.  I never have and I doubt I ever will regret having it.

  • I have 2. I want 4-5 more. FI has 3 and wants at least 2 more as well. :)

  • Never wanted one at all but me and my bf ended up getting the same one on a trip to New Mexico at 19 and I don't regret it at all. I forget I have it all the time.

  • I have one and it is pretty small and in a discreet place. You can't even see it when I am wearing a bikini.  The tattoo is for me and for me only and something that I do love that it is with me forever. From far away it looks like a paw print, but up close it is really an upside down heart and the claws are tear drops. It is IHO the dog I had as a child for 18 years.

  • I have 1 on my lower back and it's a butterfly. When I got it I had about 5 minutes to pick it out. I want to get another one after I do my first 5k in October (Race for the Cure). I thought it would be cool to do it in a pinkish color in the shape of the breast cancer ribbon. I would want it to say "my first five k in memory of Terri." I don't know where I would have them do it though. My DH has 6 and he wants more.

OMG!  This is me.  I don't think I could ever walk into one of those places...  and DH has to take the kids for anything involving a shot.   Also, I can't think of anything I like some much that I'd want it on my body forever...  Dh doesn't have any either, and I hope he never gets one.
