Holy Santa Clause Sh!t
I cannot believe it's almost been a year...next month!
What's everyone doing?
I'm sure this was talked about but I've been MIA for so long
How's everyone been doing? Any new news? Any drama?
By the looks of the board it's been kinda slow...where has everyone gone to???
I'm back...I promise
Re: 1 yr
Hey Jen! Nice to see you back on the boards!
It's SO hard to believe it will be one year next month for all of us. Very weird to think we won't be "newlyweds" anymore. Hubs and I are going to Puerto Rico for a week for our one-year. I can't wait!
My two big pieces of news right now are a new job I'm starting next week and a new puppy I'm getting at the end of the month!
How have you been?? Got anything planned for your one-year?
It HAS been a quick year!
We're going to Cape May for twp days for our anniversary, and also having a nice dinner a couple days beforehand (the only day we could get a reservation).
Hi Jen, good to see you back!
Funny you ask, DH and I were talking about it last night. We think we're going to take a trip to San Diego or Snowmass (CO) depending on what time frame he can get off work. But he says last night, "So do you want me to surprise you w/ anniversary stuff or decide together?" It was really cute.
We were going to go away but with football season I don't know if Greg will be able to get away. I did tell him he WILL take off from work that day and the other manager can work a Sunday. We will probably go to Bern's (a fancy/well known steakhouse in Tampa).
hi jen! i was just looking at old pictures of yours today on fb
funny timing!
gerren and i are going with liaD and her hubs to key west for our one year! We leave in 4 weeks (so long!) and will be renting a house together for 10 days. we will each go out to a nice dinner on Sunday, our actual anniversary, but the rest of the time we will be hanging out together, we cannot wait!
nothing too exciting here, but it seems like the entire board is busy having babies, being pregnant, or trying to be pregnant (except for moi, who likes booze, money, and sleeping too much to be with child.)
any fun news on your end?
Blog
Disney with friends. Head to Orlando to relax by the pool for a day, then a 3 day Disney cruise on the new boat, then a 6 day stay in the park to do the whole kit and caboodle. MFD has never been there and he's such a kid at heart, I am so flipping excited.
We come back on Friday, our actual anniversary is Sunday. I'm sure we'll do something that day, dinner? I don't know.
It has been a very quick year.
Since it is a Sunday we probably won't celebrate on our anniversary because DH will have to work, damn Monday paper. We are attending a wedding the weekend before and the weekend after, spending $$$$, so we might do something low key at home.
A year FLEW by... hard to believe how fast it's gone...
We just got back in the evening yesterday from our weekend trip to Grand Haven (the beachtown where we got engaged three years ago) for the Coast Guard Festival. Spent Friday evening through Sunday afternoon... that'll probably be our big thing. We'll probably do dinner or some small stuff (Iike possibly eating our cake top) that weekend. It'll really depend on what is going on with my work then.
As far as new stuff... Not working an hourly job right now, but trying to start up a business for my glass etching/vinyl decals. As of now it's not going anywhere, but I can hope right? Looking for other work is not getting me anywhere either. Discouraging.
Otherwise... Nothing really out of the ordinary. Glad to see you back Jen!
Jen - Nice to see you around here again.
My hubs and I are going to Disneyland & Disney California Aventure for 2.5 days. Ended up getting a quarterly bonus which is paying for the trip (except for gas and food there but hotel, tickets & doggy daycare is paid for). Still haven't been to Hawaii yet like we had planned on in February (we ended up buying a house instead) but we'll eventually get there.
IUI #1 10/12/11 (Bravelle + HCG + Prometrium & acupuncture) = 10/26 BFP! Beta #1=250, Beta #2= 615. 1st u/s 11/8.
I hardly post on this board, usually just lurk a little but this is a fun thread to post in
DH and I haven't made any concrete plans but we were thinking about going out for a nice dinner, trying some of our cake (we had the top tier frozen and will be delivered to us on our anniversary), and watch our wedding video. A gift I plan to give is a really nice leather journal for us to write notes to each other in and I'll start it off writing something to him about how the first year of our marriage.
I can't believe it's almost been a year already!
Hi Jen! Glad to see you back!
We don't have anything planned yet. J has mentioned going back to Asheville, NC where we took our mini-moon last year so we'll probably do a long weekend (Friday-Monday) there or something. No idea what I'm getting him.
Nothing majorly new here. J had emergency surgery about a month ago for a perforated ulcer in his stomach but he's doing great now. I currently have 3 jobs (shoot me now) but 2 of them are just part time and one of those is just whenever they need me so it's not TOO bad and the extra moola is definitely going to help with all these hospital/doctor bills coming in.
Hope your new job/house/city is all going well for you!
We're going to the beach again for a week around our anniversary. It'll be a week w/ FIL, SIL, and niece. Hopefully it won't be too bad...fingers crossed! We'll be back down at the outer banks so we'll visit the "scene of the crime" I'm sure.
Shauni...I'm w/ you...we love our sleep, money, and freedom too much right now to have a kid or even start trying. We talk about it, but I know I'm just way too selfish still right now.
We were watching something on TV the other night and a commercial came on for who knows what, but they were in Atlantic City and it looked nice. We've never been and I have family up near there. So we're going to start saving to spend our 2nd anniversary up there for a few days, see some of my family, and spend some time in NYC too. Hopefully we can save enough between now and Sept 2012!
No big news here on our end...my SIL and BIL are getting a divorse. He moved out back in April, he's being a huge d!ck about it all too which just make it worse on my niece who's 4. I know my SIL isn't always a peach to be around let alone live with I'm sure, but how he's acting is just a new low. He's got no job, facing a DUI conviction, about to get evicted form his apt and truck repod because he can't pay for anything...and yet he complained that my SIL cared too much about money when she wanted to make sure the bills were paid. Um, yeah, that's what being a responsibile adult means. Ugh, it's just such a bad situation. Part of me is glad that we're an hr away form all the drama, but I feel bad that I'm not there for my SIL and especially my niece.
Happy (early) Anniversary ladies!
A year certainly flew by VERY quickly!
DH and I are heading to Niagara-on-the-lake for the weekend. We are staying at a B&B and just spending some time relaxing. Have reservations booked at a really nice restaurant, probably do some shopping, etc.
We are expecting our first baby in January, so it'll be nice to get away for a bit and spending 1-on-1 time together before the bambino joins us.
