Re: How are the ladies being ruled by the tiny fist?

  • I'll go first. My kid is clearly awesome but she's wearing me out. In the past two weeks she's popped two teeth, learned to sit up and is now crawling. She still loves the boob but thinks it's funny to bite me. Those little effers are sharp, too! I miss her all day long and I'm sad every Monday when I have to leave her to go back to work.

  • Nibbles on my boob o god. I am in pain thinking about them.

Milo is doing good much like his birthday twin he has two teeth, can get to the seated position on his own, but can only crawl backwards. He is also able to pull himself up now and get to standing which is scary. Gone are the days i could pop into the kitchen and leave him chilling on the floor with his toys.

His favorite toy is his plan toys drum. The kid moves it around and bangs on it all day. We didn't give him the mallet but he can play with his hands. I recommend this drum to everyone!

  • I had my first weekend away from the kid.  I thought I would be a wreck but it was fantastic!  Just what I needed to get a little break and spend time with DH.  I was so happy to see him by Sunday morning though.

  • Andrew is ready for school to start and in the middle of football season. He went down the shore this weekend and is a tan little brownie. I knew there had to be a little puerto rican in him!

Chase is Mr. Personality. The things that come out of this kids mouth is hilarious. He can't wait until the new baby comes and is praying for a sister. Everyday when I come home from work he runs to me and says "You came back!" which just breaks my heart. You would think he was abandoned or something. Does it to both me and DH whenever we leave the house and come back, like he was expecting us not to :o(

Bella. Oh Bella. I used to say this stuff about Chase, but now she has taken over that position. She is entering the terrible twos and Ms. Independent stage. Everything is "I'll do it I'll do it I'll do it" or "I got it" and she will repeat it over and over again until she does it. She also likes to throw temper tantrums. Her favorite thing to do is accessorize. She will wear her dads socks as leg warmers, and put anything on her head (including her brothers underwear) that will fit. Fun times.

  • little man is awesome.  he eats and sleeps like a champ.  the best part of my day is when he wakes up in the morning with a huge smile as soon as you say good morning.

i started back to work yesterday and it wasn't bad.  today i went into his room no fewer than 3 times for a quick kiss on the cheek before i left.

i need a mom opinion here- he will sleep from 9p- around 8a most nights (yes, i know i am lucky and i am not bragging).  but now that i am back to work i leave the house by 7a.  dh wants me to wake him to eat before i go to work.  i did yesterday and today and he will just chill and play after eating and isnt in a bad mood, but is it a good idea.  should i wake him or just pump and let him get another bottle?

Eh, I'd let him sleep. If he wanted to wake to eat he would. If you wake him, he wont go back to sleep? I'm always afraid to wake the sleeping beast that is my daughter.

he doesn't go back to sleep but he is totally content.  i think i will try waiting him out and pumping tomorrow morning and see how that goes for him and dh.

milo is similar he sleeps until 10 but i can wake him up earlier if we have something to do and he will stay up until 11-1130 when he takes his first nap of the day. i think it is up to you, you can just get him use to a new routine.

Do you have a stash that dh can pull from?

  • yup.  there is plenty of milk in our freezer (and some stored up at my mom's since we ran out of room) or he could have the bottle i pump that morning too.  there are options.  i am hoping my supply doesn't dip now that i am back at work.

I'd let him sleep...babies need a lot of sleep and he might be cutting out an hour or two if you wake him up. Could you try putting him down earlier at night, so he wakes earlier on his own? We did this when I went back to work, so I get to see Oliver more in the mornings (but he goes to bed at 7:30 so I don't get much time with him at night).

  • Oliver is doing great. He's walking - well, running - all over the place. He says "Daddy" all day long, so we're anxious for some new words to start!

  • Emma is doing great.  She's almost 15 months old.  Took her 13 months to get her first tooth, but now they are coming in like gangbusters.  She has 4 coming in at once.

She's almost walking, she'll take a couple steps here and there.  She can do it, just needs to work on balance and confidence.  She'll probably start soon.  It doesn't help she's still really tiny and has super tiny feet.

She really is an angel child. I don't know who I bribed to get her, but it was worth it.

  • Max is awesome, though he was super cranky yesterday-he's got a few teeth pushing through. He looks like a hillbilly-he got his top 2 first! He won't stay put, and is interested in crawling around all the time. Totally exhausting.

He's started to cruise a bit-this morning he was standing in his crib and would sort of "follow" me-i would move to one side and he would "walk" over.

Solid foods are still the most confusing thing ever. Tonight (if he's in a good mood) I'm going to try an egg yolk & cheese scramble.

Story of my life right now.  They annoy and terrify me.  We are still struggling with Emma eating solids.  She's perfectly happy to just stick with puffs and purees, nothing else seems to be working out so hot.

  • Im trying to branch out and post on other topics more, but Im not gonna lie--the updates are my favorite (to both read and write). Until I just heard about this sleeping in til 10am possibility I was riding high on a weekend of getting up after 730am both days. Otherwise, DD is hilarious, I love just watching her be herself and learn simple things like blowing bubbles or drinking from a cup. She loves Elmo (mo-mo), Fraggle Rock (frock), popsicles (saucies), jumping on piles of pillows (pews), her stuffed monkey, and ketchup. She still hates tutus and hair accessories but has an affinity for shoes so theres still hope that she wont be a TOTAL tom boy. She loves to brush her teeth, which is a good thing because she also loves to drink bathwater (eww, i know). If seeing her depart my nether regions were not enough to prove our genetic connection, her first two-word phrase did--"more cheese". Yep, thats my sentiment exactly. We're still touch and go on longer car trips which is keeping us relatively homebound except for the occasional weekend when I bottle up my patience and try to make the best of whatever meltdowns may occur....while trapped in a car with a screaming and squirming child and a variety of toddler accoutrement flying around in the backseat. At the moment Im trying to think of good activities to do with her at home on weekends--ideas?

  • Ruling by the tiny fist is right!  Doc diagnosed her with colic 1.5 weeks ago, dh thought we should take her to the doc before I dropped her off in a basket on the neighbors door step (kidding... I'm kidding!).  I'm at my parents for awhile since dh has a lot of travel coming up, so it was a blessing that I have some help through most of the crying (I'm stealing my mom's swing when we leave - this thing must be covered in baby cat nip).

I can't get enough of her smiles - she has a dimple, just like her mom! She also has my cowlick to which I've apologized that bangs are probably not in her future.  She will be 8 weeks on Friday and is a really good sleeper.  I don't have any pics on this computer, but she is already so different than my sig.
