One of my friends is using a piece of open software written by someone with a Norwegian-sounding name, so out of curiosity, I Googled him. One of the first links was his tax information, outlining just how much he made and how much tax he paid. I know this information is public record here, but I wasn't really expecting Google to pick it up!

So I tried it for myself. Luckily it's a few pages down in the results. While I'm generally okay with other people in (or with ties to) Norway knowing that they can go look up my income/tax if they really want to, I'm a little uncomfortable with the fact that it shows up when you do an internet search for me.

Having a boring name helps prevent this :-). DH and I never come up because we share our name with so many people.
If you haven't already, feel free to check me out.
Seriously, you're not Norwegian if you don't check up on everyone you know. Or maybe you're not a nosy-American-transplant-in-Norway.
I never even thought to check you out! And will respect your privacy......for now. Ha!
