Anyone bought anything from the Sears Outlet?
I just saw an ad for the Sears Outlet in Wheaton - I never knew Sears had outlets! We could really use some new appliances and a lawnmower, but before I make the ride, has anyone ever been or bought anything from there? I'm wondering how the prices compare and what condition the products are in....TIA!
Re: Anyone bought anything from the Sears Outlet?
I was in there a little over a month ago looking for a stove and everything I liked was scratched too much for not enough of a discount, yknwim? Like, they had the stove I wanted, but the bottom drawer was broken (it was stuck open, and scratched) and it was only $40 off. Not a deal, imo.
They might turn over their stock quickly though, so it might be worth a look.

Stand up for something you believe in.
hmmm that's what I was thinking might be the case...i guess it's worth a look but I won't get my hopes up!
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM SEARS OUTLET!!
We bought a stainless steel Whirlpool fridge (ranked #2 in Consumer Reports) and a front loading washer and dryer from the outlet near Baltimore.
All three appliances had been used and returned before we got them. They seemed fine in the store but when they arrived, the fridge had broccoli in it and the ice maker didn't work. After 4 missed appointments, the fridge finally broke completely and we lost $300 worth of food.
We got another fridge and it broke too and we lost another $300-$400 in food. The last fridge took another 6-7 appointments and it isn't even the fridge we ordered but they won't take it back.
The washer and dryer were also used. The washing machine leaked and they finally replaced it with a better model that worked for 8 months. Now after 4 visits, it is still broken.
SEARS IS AWFUL!!! We had an article written about our story in the Wall Street Journal's magazine Smart Money. Sears didn't care. They told them they offered us a refund but they never did.
When we asked Sears to take away the smelly fridge that came with our new house, they told us they woudl clean it up and resell it. I told them it didn't even work and they said that usually they are able to sell it anyway at the outlet. Trust me - that thing was so gross and smelly even after I tried bleaching it.
Sears is gross and the outlets sell you any piece of garbage that people return or have them haul away when they get new appliances.
