So between my SIL and I, we have a ton of baby/young child clothes and items to get rid of. But we don't know where to begin. We tried craigslist, but didn't get any replies, so we are moving on. Are the certain brands/things consignment sales take? We looked at "Reruns", but they have a limit on how many clothing items you can take, and we have way more. We already went through and picked out what wasn't stained/torn etc.. and still have a ton left. But we are completely clueless. We also have a baisc Graco pack and play, a Summer's Infant Activity Seat, car seats (that are NOT expired, or been in accidents) and the most of it is clothes. (Brands are Carters, Just One Year, Old Navy, Baby Gap, Gymboree, Circo and Gerber)
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks In Advance!
Re: Talk to me about consignment sales
^ Ditto!
I tried shopping Reruns once and it was horrendous! Twice as Nice is smaller but loaded with cute stuff and lots of eager shoppers. I consigned last year and sold almost all of my stuff.
Get on and get registered! It takes time to tag everything but it's so worth it.
love is for every her, love is for every him, love is for everyone
Ditto Twice as Nice. I love shopping and consigning at it. I've been to several other consignment sales and wasn't impressed. Twice as Nice is so organized and the people running it aren't psycho (which was my experience with other sales...)
I consigned just a portion of my baby boy clothes and a couple random pieces of baby gear this past spring and brought home $400. Yes, it took time to hang and tag everything, but so worth it.
Sometimes you can get them from dry cleaners.
^ Yep. I had to go to 3 before I had any luck but it was worth it - I have plenty for everything I am consigning at TANKC. And, they were free.
Thanks everyone above for the great shout outs. Everything you listed above you can consign. All info is on our site. Also follow us on FB as do giveaways for hangers and other goodies. You will do so much better consigning vs garage sale or clist. Trust me. Get registered and get tagging! As you are tagging if you have any questions ask me here or on our fb page. Also, on a FB page a few days ago I listed a great link on pricing.
I will say the first time tagging is usually the hardest, mainly because its hard to decide on prices but you will get a great system down as you go. I personally first work in this order-sort by sex, size, then match up sets, enter into system as you are entering lay clothes in order of entry, then print tags, and I like to hang and tag at the same time but if you have help someone could hang as the other person enters then you can just go back and pin tags.
I've done both grouping onesies on hangers and putting a couple in a larger size baggie. Also, grouping outfits together is nice and easy to hang and tag.
Ditto all the above on Twice as Nice, best consignment sale for both selling and buying out there.
