Confession

I take my baby out to restaurants after 8pm.

Gasp! Oh, the horror!

I've heard so many people say that children should not be up that late. Should they also not sleep till 11am....12pm? I have to say, though, Zoe set her own crazy late schedule before I even went back to work. This schedule will not last forever, but it works for us now. I feel extra judged when we are out with her at night.....and that's a-ok with me! Yes My baby is happy and loved. What more could anyone ask for? Big Smile

Just wanted to throw that out there since it's super slow anyway!

  • Enjoying going out whenever while you still can!  We don't ever get to go out anymore because MacKenzie is at that phase where sitting still in one place is not an option.  If we do go out as a family, one of us ends up walking around outside while the other finishes their meal.  Take out for us now!
  • She is less than 6 months old! She will sleep anywhere! Go out and enjoy it while she can still be carried around and sleep in her carrier. Once she can't fit and wants to sit in a high chair or move around a lot, you will miss being able to go out to eat at any time. Forget about anyone giving you looks! Every baby is different and if she likes to be up late-so be it. She is lucky to have loving parents and if that is the worst she does it go to dinner after 8- She is doing pretty darn good Big Smile

  • Those obnoxious people would have a fit if they ever visited the Middle East.  During Ramadan, stores here don't open until 9pm.  It is totally a social norm here to go to the mall will small children at midnight or later.
  • OMG! Don't let my MIL know- she not only thinks that they shouldn't be out that late, but they shouldn't really be at a restaurant at all!  What if they make any noise at all and any one realizes there is a baby there?! LMAO

    Enjoy! :)

I know! I told H that we need to start finding a babysitter because she won't always be this portable. :)

That's pretty cool! I didn't know about Ramadan until I had a coworker that was Muslim. I thought they didn't eat at all that whole time, but then she explained to me that they can after sunset. Ha ha! that would be a long time without any food! It must suck to have Ramadan in the summer when it gets dark so late.

  • I have had kids in my class that participate in Ramadan.  It is a lot for a 7,8, or 9 year old kid to handle and I am always impressed by how well they do.
