*princess.jessi RE: Flamingo*

Hey - I just noticed your post on the Travel board from a few days ago and wanted to add my two cents about the GO! rooms. I was getting a little worried before we went in May after reading all of the horrible reviews on TripAdvisor, but we ended up loving our room - especially for the price. I actually booked through the Harrahs website because they were running a pretty good promotion. Regardless of what that last poster said about it looking like the '60s threw up in there, I thought the rooms were pretty cool - and I love the location of the Flamingo. Anyway, just wanted to confirm that it was NOT a huge dump haha

  • Oh GOOD!!!  :)

My friend has some free comps, so their room is free and thats where they wanted to stay, I didnt really want to stay elsewhere!  I will have to check out Harrah's site too! Did you have a Bellagio view?   Thanks for letting me know! :)

  • Well, free is always good :) No, our room actually faced the pool/gardens area (the windows actually had electric drapes, too, which I thought was pretty neat) And I guess that is one of the things I wasn't crazy about because you could hear the music from the pool all the way up in our room - but since the pool closes at 5:00 or 6:00 it wasn't that big of a deal. Oh, and the pool area is pretty nice too. I think they're trying to make it more 'club-ish' because they had a DJ and played games and stuff during the day. I thought it was kind of fun, but my husband who's like a 70-year-old-man trapped in a 30-year-old's body, wasn't crazy about it. ha! Another thing we liked, too, was that there's a mini-fridge in the room.  Also, not sure if you guys were interested in a show, but we saw Absinthe and loved it! It would definetely be a fun one to go to with a group!
  • Yeah, for them! :)  Ha!  I wanted to check out Aria, but since they are staying there, we will too.  I have also heard great things about the pool area. Were going the first weekend in Nov.  So I dont know that we will get to use it much.. but oh well.

We do for sure plan to go to a show, I will check out Absinthe!  Thanks!

I've been to Vegas multiple multiple times and stayed somewhere different each time.  My favorite hotel thus far has been the Flamingo.  Location can't be beat and if you prefer to not have to walk 2 miles just to exit the casino, Flamingo is it.  The pool is the best!  If you need to stay somewhere that has it all, like a fantastic night club or great restaurants, go elsewhere.   But free is free and I loved it.  Go Vegas!!  (I'm heading there in 2 days - wooHoo!)

    thanks to jennied :)

  • Super!! I guess since people like it, the $94ish a night is a good deal! Holla!
