D.C. Area Nesties
Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.
If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.
Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
I am new to "the nest!" Just wanted to make sure this group is where I'm supposed to be. We(I?) live in Leesburg. Husband works 5 days a week and I teach (therefore I'm on Summer Break and in desperate need of human interaction
)
I'm ready to learn- who will be my Nest-Mentor?
Thanks in advance for any help/assistance!
Re: Tuesday... Only Tuesday
Hello! This is the place for you. You can hang out on any board that strikes your fancy. This one specifically gathers people who live or who used to live in the DC area.
I live in Old Town and work in Alexandria too.
Feel free to post about whatever you'd like.
Stand up for something you believe in.
Hello and welcome! I live in Herndon so I'm not too far away.
Hey, if you're in need of human contact, maybe you can help me out. I'm a life coach who's working on specializing in teachers, and I'm doing 20-minute informational interviews with them to collect information and ideas. If you didn't mind giving some of your time, I could come meet you in Leesburg for coffee or something.
Basically it's 10 questions I have about what you like about teaching, your goals, and your obstacles. Your input along with that of the 25 or so others I'll be talking to will help me see some common threads and trends that I can match life coaching resources to and offer to schools/teachers in the future.
If you're interested, write me at dianaforbes1 AT gmail DOT com (That's how we give out e-mails on here - we don't write them normally because computer programs can capture them for spamming.) If you want, I can also find several Nesties to vouch for me that I'm a veteran here, and not a weirdo.
If not, thanks anyway for considering! Looking forward to getting to know you here.
Hi and Welcome!
I'm in Ashburn, so I'm close to you. I'm also a teacher and I work for LCPS. What do you teach?
Welcome to the board!
We're generally an easy-going group, so don't worry too much about newbie missteps
Anywho, welcome! I'm just going into teaching and have coursework and training out the wazoo. The Nest is a great way to waste time
This exactly. Some boards are fraught with danger for the newbie (ok maybe that's a bit much but they can be a bit less forgiving) but we're rather mellow.
Welcome!

dmuppet is awesome, and a weirdo in only the best ways
We make the rockin' world go 'round.
Hello and welcome!
