DES MOINES, Iowa -- Des Moines area Jimmy John's stores are holding a customer appreciation day on Thursday.
The stores will offer sandwiches for $1 between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Thursday.
Company officials said all locations in Des Moines, West Des Moines, Altoona, Ames, Ankeny, Indianola, Johnston and Pella are part of the special event.
The offer allows only one $1 sandwich per customer and are restricted to sandwich No. 1 to 6 on the menu.
The annual event typically creates long lines, so get there early, company officials said.
Jimmy John's Gourmet was founded in 1983 by 19-year-old Jimmy John Liautaud in a converted garage in Charleston, Ill. The company now has more than 1,200 corporate and franchised locations in 39 states throughout the U.S.
