As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

This is literally like a 2 minute walk to my apartment. My neighborhood is really safe, I don't remember anything like this ever happening. Hopefully it gets resolved as soon as possible!!! And I hope my kitty isn't scared, heh

A few months ago there was supposedly a crazed man on the loose with a gun and I was out walking Sadie. A nice lady in a car stopped and said "did you know that there is a man with a gun on the loose" Nice of her to inform me again but I wasn't worried one bit because it was way on the other side of town and the cops had the area shut down. Figured if it was my time so be it!

Eek! Glad that this person is in custody, but I'm so sad for the person that died from this random act of violence.
It's crazy, a few weeks ago, there was a scare at Virginia Tech that there was some person on campus with a loaded gun. BUT there are actually congressional leaders that believe that anyone should be allowed to carry a concealed weapon on a school campus! I just don't understand!

OMG!!!! I hope they get this guy and that you, kitty and everyone else stay safe!!!
I honestly always wondered how crazy psycho nut jobs made their way into safe suburban neighborhoods. I can remember hearing about a gunman on the loose back in '05 where they were telling everyone to keep their doors locked and stay inside until they found him. Helicopters were all over and stuff. It was in these townhouses down the street from the sub where my cousins live but luckily they were camping that week. I also had 2 friends living in those townhouses at the time. The guy had shot his ex at close range in the back of the head then ran; eventually they did find him and when he was cornered he shot & killed himself. We found out the girl he had killed was one of my sister's childhood friends whom I worked with at her parents' driving range back in high school. Too close to home!!!
