Re: Interview Me!

  • Being a younger bride as you were, do you think there is ever a good age for one to get married?  And knowing now what you may not have known then, would you have waited longer to get married, or are you content with the decisions you have made?

TBTH, I still side eye my friends who are now getting engaged/married. I think 99% of them aren't ready for marriage. I don't think there's a good age to get married, but I certainly think it takes a major level of maturity and commitment, and I think that's where most young people fall short. They don't realize that marriage really is different than dating, and that once you're in it, you're in it, you can't just "break up". If someone is ready for that, I say all the power to them.

That being said, I'm still totally happy with our decision to get married young. I love learning new things about myself and J each day, and I love that we have the chance to grow together. There are days when we fight and argue, but nothing any worse than if we were just living together and in a relationship. No regrets....yet ;-)

What's your favorite Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor?
I have only tried one or two flavors, but I want to try Dublin Mudslide and Everything but the...

Did you already have SJ's name picked out before you knew? (We're still having trouble agreeing... )
Yep. We agreed on names pretty easily within 6 weeks of getting pregnant. Our girl name was picked out before my m/c, but Sawyer was picked out quickly after getting PG again. If he was a she, the name would have been Charlotte Grace.

What are you most excited about having a boy?
J and I each have a niece already, so we're excited to have a boy around. The main that that I am looking forward to is seeing J interact with him. He's SUCH an amazing uncle and so totally involved, that I honestly get teary thinking about what a good dad he'll be.

Do you have nursery ideas yet?
Oh yeah! We've had the theme picked out since before we got pregnant. We're doing a bee theme (remember the sting at the wedding?) with gray, yellow, and green. We have white furniture and will be using Carter's Bumble bedding. I think it's going to turn out pretty cute.

    What are your favorite restaraunts?
J is a super picky eater (think 4 year old) so I haven't been to many restaurants that aren't typical family dining restaurants. Of the ones I have been to I really love Shuckers (seafood/oyster bar), Olive Garden (their spinach-artichoke dip is soooo good), and Cheesecake Factory.

What is your drink of choice when you go out to eat?
I drink water with almost every single meal (even before I was pregnant). As far as alcoholic drinks go I love a White Russian or Margarita (almost any flavor, not blended).

Would yYOU eat a live octopus for $1,000?

If it was wiggling around and you chopped off a small piece of tentacle, sure. If I had to like take a fork and dig out a piece of it's face.... hell no.

I like to think i'd do pretty well on Fear Factor in the food challenges. I might vomit, but i'd eat least try bull balls and cow brains. ;-)

How did you and J meet?
We met when I was in middle school and he was in high school. I was "dating" a friend of his (the friend was 2 years old than me and 2 years younger than J) so we were just friends for a while. We ended up losing touch and eventually reconnecting on Facebook (ha!) and hit it off. The funny thing is, of his two groomsmen at the wedding, one was the guy I was "dating" when we met.

What is your favorite color to wear?
I like dark colors like black, gray, navy, but lately i've been wearing more teal and bright blue or pink and really like it. I think it's just because most of my clothes are more flattering now that i'm pregnant.

    Favorite dessert?
The lemon-raspberry cheescake at The Cheesecake Factory is amazing. I also just tried tiramisu for the first time a couple weeks ago, and I could eat it every day. I want more now that I said that actually....thanks! lol

How many kids do you want to have?
In a perfect world, I'd like 3 kids. We'll probably end up having two though.

  • Have you had any strange cravings since being pregnant?

What game show would you love to be on?

Have you had any strange cravings since being pregnant?
In the first few weeks of both pregnancies I craved Alfredo, which is weird because I don't like it, and now that i'm almost halfway done, I hate it again. I also craved hot sauce and hot wings. I put hot sauce on my macaroni and cheese a few times lol. My most recent craving has been Ramen noodles. I can't get enough of them, but really need to stop eating them because the sodium is ridiculous.

What game show would you love to be on?
I'm really good at Wheel of Fortune so that'd be fun.

I seem to like that vinegar taste too. I wanted some tomatos with vinegar on them 2 days ago. Unfortunately all that was around was Balsamic and I don't care for BV.
