Christmas

Yes I know we are 4 1/2 months away but I really need to start thinking about it. I don't think I am going to do handmade gifts this year but I want to do something nice. We are not doing gifts for everyone like we normally do but I want to get a few gifts for the ladies in the family.

One SIL lives in NYC and is an actress and so anything girly is great. I thought about getting her a cute wallet or clutch or something. Any good websites that might have things like that? Does etsy have cute wallets or cluthes?

The other SIL I have no clue about. I thought about just finding a nice picture frame that she can put pictures of her family in. Again any good websites for nice, but inexpensive, frames or would etsy have things like that?

Is it bad that I rather spend a little bit more money on the NYC SIL because she is my favorite (my brother's wife)? The other SIL is G's brother's wife and we both really can't stand her but we put on a nice face when we see her (which thank goodness is only once a year right now).

G is in charge of his brothers, older nephew and niece. We will probably get the 1 1/2 year old a toy or something. My brother is getting a starbucks gift card since he lives at that place.

We are also going to get some nice frames and put a picture of Peyton in it and give to everyone.

Re: Christmas

  • Sadly, it really isn't in our budget to do too much for anyone.  I try to get my 2 nephews a gift card each year, and obviously my kids.  Drew and I haven't exchanged gifts in years.  We have a garden this year, so I have canned a lot of pepper sauce and what not, so to the very closest family members (my sister, my 92 yr old aunt, the il's) a jar of pepper sauce and a framed photo of Chase and Lane.  I would love to be able to get stuff for every one, but I just can't, even if I start a year in advance.  Money is just too dang tight and feeding my family and making sure they have water and power is my priority.  Wish I could help you with ideas =(

  • We arent doing much for Christmas gifts this year.  I will definitely be making a few things though for sure, Im starting a list.

What if you got a family photo done (have a friend take it) or all 3 of you get a photo with Santa and frame that for everyone with a tin of cookies?  Make it easy on yourself!

I may just do your idea of a nice frame with a picture and bake some cookies. We really don't want to spend a lot of money on presents this year because we are wanting to pay off some things so hopefully I can SAH sooner rather than later.
