    From the website:

Yes, it looks a little weird, but this parent-powered nasal aspirator is totally amazing! BabyComfyNose clears stuffy little noses more effectively (and less invasively) than any nasal bulb or electronic aspirator we've ever tested. And yes it's hygienic: thanks to the laws of physics, it's flat-out impossible to draw goop up the tube. Plus, unlike other aspirators out there, it uses ordinary facial tissues, not endless replacement filters, so there's nothing else to buy. The stuffy nose remedy used by European parents for years! Dishwasher safe. For health reasons, we can't accept returns on opened packages.

  • Alright, I'll admit it... I have one of these. Not the same one but a similar one. And it's really not that gross. There is a filter in it so that you could never get snot in your mouth. And that thing is a miracle worker. I've gotten massive boogers out with it that there is no way in hell I would have ever gotten out with a bulb. And it doesn't require you sticking it up in their nose, you just hold it at the opening, so there's no way it could hurt them. It may seem gross but it's seriously effective! LOL! This is the one I have...

  • Here is my issue with it - Amy wanted one of these things, and another person brought up a great point - sure, there is a filter to catch just the snot, but then you are sucking in air that is swirling around bacteria filled snot, and you are sucking that air deep into your lungs. Deep.

Sounds like a good way to get sick.

If they could fit the end with some sort of hepa filter or n95 mask filter, I'd be sold, and would use it with glee. I guess it depends on how bad you want the boogies out.

  • Ok, I like a booger-free nose just like the next mama....but I don't even think an N-95 would persuade me into using a mom-operated snot sucker!

True...but you are just as likely to get sick from your kid coughing all over you when he has a cold. Or from wiping his nose and not washing your hands, etc etc etc. All I know is that is works and it helped my baby breathe better...and I guess sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures! :)

  • Amy, I am with you!  But, I'm also that sick person who gets joy out of picking huge boogers out of my kids nose.. that stuff doesnt bother me, it fascinates me. ;)

Agreed. Don't even get me started on scab picking and black head popping. ;)

  • I have the NoseFrida just like Amy&Andy. I love the thing and have used it plenty of times on both of my kiddos and have never gotten sick. Plus I figure I would rather be sick then having to watch my baby suffer with a plugged up nose. That thing gets massive amounts of snot out of their nose.

  • Okay, I couldn't see pics today at work, but that is the most disgusting thing I've ever seen!  What is wrong with your people?  You suck boogers out of your kids' NOSE?!  No, just no.

I can't even use the bulb nose sucker thing.  I make DH or my daycare lady do it. Ick!
