We got new neighbors renting the house next to us. She has a couple of young kids. One of the kids likes to ride her bike over to our driveway, up it, turn around and back to theirs. I would rather them not come up our driveway since we usually have a vehicle parked there and she comes close to it. And when she goes back to hers, she rides through our grass.. you can see where she rides already and they've only been there a week. H works very hard on our yard and likes to keep it nice. Would you say something or just let it go? And if you would say something how would you go about it/ what would you say? I don't want to sound like a *** but I also don't want them ruining our yard. Not to mention the fact that last night they had visitors walking through our bacck yard and just standing by our deck! Just standing there! Right by our deck in front of our door! Who does that??
Re: WWAND?
Are you afraid she is going to ride her bike right into your vehicle?
If you would rather they not use your driveway then feel free to say something. I usually don't mind things like this, though, and if anything I would just ask that she stay on the pavement/sidewalk and be a little more careful about the grass.
That's weird about the friends standing right by your deck - is it very close to the neighbor's deck or backyard?
just tell the little girl next time you see her ride in the grass "Honey, dont ride in the grass, okay/"
But, in the driveway is fine - I think you would sound like a total scrooge if you told your neighbor that your kid could circle in our driveway.
The deck thing is weird. Who stands in another neighbors lawn, like, just stands there?
I would say something. I think I would worry more that they could get hurt and then come after you for it being your property - even though they are trespassing I'm not sure on the law of that. But people shouldn't think they can just ride all over your yard.
We have an empty field behind us and a neighbor who we don't even talk to would ride his 4wheeler through the field, through our hard and down our driveway. I stood out there one day and about knocked them over b/c I was so pissed. They finally stopped but it pissed me off that they were tearing up our yard.
I'd try this first. Then if she continues to do it then you should say something to her parents. Anyone who works hard on their yard would feel the same way as you besides - it's your property.
About the people near your deck thing - do you live in a duplex or something? We have 2 dobermans and if you need to borrow them for a day to stand in your back yard to get rid of the idiots just let me know
I would say something about the driveway, but only because of how close she's getting to the car. Maybe something like what Tiff said about the grass, but add "I don't mind if you turn around in the driveway, but try to stay away from the cars. I'd hate for you to get hurt." If she got hurt, they COULD come back to you and expect you to cover the expenses (which would probably be covered by home owners insurance, but still!).
