Hi guys! This is my first 9to5 post. I just started working 830-5 in a sales office. I have breakfast in the morning, and bring my hot chocolate in a go cup (I don't drink coffee) I take a half hour for lunch, which I usually have a yogurt and some crackers or a granola bar. Then I always treat myself to a Special K choclatey peanut bar around 3 or 330.
But, there are always donuts/cookies/crackers/bagels and other treats around the office, and my co-workers are always doing "pancake breakfasts" in our kitchen, which makes it soooo hard to resist. I'm getting married October 8 (59 days ahhh) and I'm insanely anxious about looking good in my dress. I work out like crazy every day, make healthy dinners, but I still feel like I'm eating too much and not seeing results:( UGH. Any ideas for some other healthy snacks to bring to work to keep me full?
Thanks so much!! Hope everyone is having a good day- 3 more hours to go here on the West Coast:)
Re: Healthy Snacks at Work?
I eat celery and peanut butter for an afternoon snack, and sometimes sliced green and red pepper. I love snacking, so these are crunchy foods I can eat slowly and feel like a full snack but consume little calories.

Also, if you've been dieting/exercising for awhile you've might of reached a plateau, you should mentally prepare yourself for that. I'm sure you'll look great in your dress no matter what, nobody is going to notice an extra pound or two.
I eat a lot of fruit and veggies. Today, for example, I brought a banana, grapes, apple, cauliflower and carrots.
I'd be careful on the granola bars as they tend to have a lot of sugar. I usually do fruits, string cheese, yogurt, veggies. Drink lots of water too.
FWIW, it's ok to indulge in a cookie once in a while.

Your lunch sounds very small, I would actually recommend eating more. Also, granola bars are not generally super healthy (lots of carbs and sugar) so eating one or two every day will likely not help. I would make sure to eat a large enough breakfast (fruit salad is a good one), and filling lunch (definitely need some good lean protein in there), and try not to have too many carbs at lunch/snacks. You can snack on veggies as much as you like, so keeping a good variety on hand at work can give you something to munch on anytime coworkers start making pancakes in the office.
The big thing to make sure of when trying to lose weight and stay full is to make every calorie count for you, so that means limiting sugar and anything processed (always has more calories and less nutrients) and staying to real, whole foods you've prepared yourself, which will keep you full and healthy.
Also, try to avoid drinking calories. Switch out the hot chocolate for green tea (no sugar), water with lemon in it, or the infused low-cal waters like Fuze drinks. Fruit juice is not actually a good choice, since it's high calories. high sugar, and much less nutrients and less satiety than if you ate the actual fruit.
Hi. This is my first 9to5 reply. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. You will look smashing for sure!
I recommend mixing up a smoothie the night before work. Put the smoothie in the freezer, then let it set out, or put it in the fridge to thaw a bit at the office until you are ready to drink it. They are easy to make and loaded with good for you nutrients (and taste like a treat!) I just started making them for myself recently and use Greek yogurt to pump up the protein. I've got a great smoothie recipe at my blog (link below) and posting another today.
Another good option is to make a batch of homemade granola. It's pretty easy to do and the high fiber content makes it super filling.
It's awesome that you are working out. But (I'm also a fitness trainer)...make sure you are giving your body enough calories. Otherwise you will actually continue to store fat (the visceral kind that forms around your belly button) instead of shed it. Look at the sugar content in the things you are eating. Sometimes even "low-cal" or "fat free" items can be loaded with sugar. This encourages your body to store fat too. Getting protein with every meal and snack will also help boost your metabolism and scorch away fat.
Hope this helps. You will be lovely in October.
