Kate Middleton's makeup criticized by THIS woman?
Re: Kate Middleton's makeup criticized by THIS woman?
It's a petty criticism even if she, in the same breath, complimented her overall look. It is one thing to say this among friends, it is another to voice it publicly in the media. VW should know better.
She should also be mindful of criticizing someone who has the capability of wearing a look and making it a sold-out sensation the next day.
Omg, why did I look at that woman's picture...why!!! She looks like the GD crypt keeper.
I think Kate has a lot of natural beauty, I didn't really notice the liner until now...idk it looks fine to me.
Wow, that woman does look terrible!
Kate probably has her makeup done by a fleet of people in charge of her PR. She is lucky enough to probably not even need makeup, but she does have dark hair/etc that allows her to pull it off either way.

Yep. That wasn't the smartest move.
I love Kate's makeup, I don't think she looks "hard" at all, she's gorgeous and fresh looking. VW, as talented as she is looks frightening.
I'm pretty positive she always does her own makeup, even on her wedding day.
ew! that lady is gross.
i love black eyeliner. and i also like it on kate middleton.

Yep, I heard this too.
FWIW though, I really am not a fan of the eye liner either. I've noticed it many times before and think she'd be a lot prettier without it (or a more subtle application).

It says it in the article linked from the OP. The article also states that on the recent tour of Canada, Kate took a hairstylist with her, but no makeup artist or stylist.
With the photos they used I can see where they're coming from - that first photo, in particular, her eyeliner looks fairly harsh. But man, what a petty criticism.
I'm definitely not a make up expert, but I think it would be much better if she didn't take it all the way across the bottom of her eye.
I think it makes her look old.
But yeah when I read about that lady throwing around an insult I almost fell of my chair. She looks terrifying. (especially the EYE makeup)

This post made me LOL, I am speechless
I agree that I think the eye liner makes Kate look older (not old, just not 29) and think she should soften her hand. But either way, her make-up looks much better than what I wear. To date, I can't remember Kate wearing any VW, so maybe the designer is venting and putting forth her sour grapes into the public in an indirect way.
I agree that I can't imagine Kate wearing VW anytime soon either.
FWIW, many female designers look like hot messes to me. Betsy Johnson is another one that comes to mind. Heck, even the dress Sarah Burton wore to the royal wedding made me say "you're wearing THAT to an occasion like this?" Dumpy and frumpy most of the time. Scary in the case of Vivienne Westwood.
