If you've ever gotten in a fender bender, did the cops come out? I've been in 2 accidents myself and several with other people and the cops have come every single time. There's a girl in ML that said in LA the cops don't come out unless someone is hurt. A girl from Boston I think, said they won't come unless there is an injury or the lanes are blocked. I don't get how that works with insurance.
Anyway, someone in the post said this:
"
Muffin0:
In FL police wont come unless there is an injury. If you need to file a report you can go into the station and pick one up."
WTF? Anyone? I have lived in Miami, Orlando, Tallahassee & Jacksonville and never has this been the case.

Re: Car accidents
Everywhere I know of, the police have to show, although usually it's a courtesy officer like pp said. I think they're just confused as to what the standard is.
I do know that many counties will send an officer to take a report, but won't investigate any further unless there are injuries. But they still respond in case there is an issue.
"My 101 List - Updating asap, I swear!
I've been in just a couple of rear enders with no damage and one accident where a Hummer and I hit each other and my mirror broke off and none of us called the cops at any of them.
I guess if there had been more damage (like enough to call the insurance company) we would have called the cops and had them come out.
