I know it's not Thurs, but can I totally be an AW???
My aunt just moved into a new house and was getting rid of a few things and called my sister to see if she needed any of them. Well of course she didn't, so she told me and I feel like I won the lotto:
A BRAND NEW Kitchen Aid mixer (she used it once, and it still has the styrofoam packaging!) - IN BLACK which all my other appliances are in! ahhhhhhh I am still smiling!
A gently used Jimmy Choo purse! (sorry belle - you wouldnt have liked it anyway.... I hope.. lol)
and a few other hand me downs that I am going to be donating to our church.

a friend just gave me a flatiron after mine was seriously stolen from the backseat of my car. (she got it as a gift from a vendor) it's brand new in box and works better than my old paul mitchell!

To answer your question about best handmedown I've scored... an 1843 chickering upright grand mohagony piano. Mom moved almost a year ago across the country and didn't want to haul it with her.

Free stuff rules!
Coolest free thing I have received is my Plycraft lounger from my brothers garage. My friend gave me her grandmas mid century side tables. All really nice stuff worth some coin on the vintage scene.
I steal/inherit stuff from my moms house all the time. It's better than an estate sale cause it's free! Ha!
I love my shell chair I pulled out of the garbage, if that counts too.
My aunt gave me my great grandma's vintage pyrex dishes! I
them.
