What kind of sex ed were you taught in school?
Re: Poll: Sex Ed
How is it that my BABY is going to be 3?

None. I don't think our county covered it until high school, and I was home schooled those years. My mom had the denial approach, "If I don't tell her, she won't know what's going on." BS. That's why I plan to inform my boys as much as possible, so they at least have the knowledge to know how to handle themselves.
I do struggle though, with having them taught by someone other than me and DH. I understand why the schools have to do it though, because most parents just don't do it themselves. I figure I'll make sure my boys know everything before they get to where the school's teaching it. That way, they've heard it from me first, and can judge what they're taught accordingly.
"My 101 List - Updating asap, I swear!
What middle school did you go to?! At first I thought 6th...but now I'm thinking it was 7th, we were split from the boys and each got their own gender specific version of sex ed. Then we ALL got to watch a video of a live birth. Yeah. That was fun.
ETA: Deltona Middle
That's fantastic. At PRHS they must have figured that we were already doing it, so what would be the point?
We were taught sex ed by a nun in our all-girls' Catholic high school....I think I blocked it out.
ETA: However, the nun that taught us left the nunnery years later, to have sex I assume.
We were split up from the boys in 5th grade.. the boys went out and played kickball. The girls talked about getting our periods. I don't think anyone at any school ever mentioned sex.
This is what we did too. I only remember period talk, never any actual sex ed.
