Recs for anniversary getaway to DFW (or somewhere else?)

Our 5 year anniversary is in November. DH just started a new job a few months ago, so he won'tt have any time off. Therefore, we're thinking of taking a short weekend getaway somewhere. We were originally thinking DFW. Anyone have any recs for nice places to stay or things to do? Or do you have any recs for places to go not more than a 3-4 hour drive from OKC? TIA!

  • I went to the Rosewood Crescent not long ago and had a great time.  The spa is incredible--it is huge and every service was outstanding.  They had a  little place in it where you could order smoothies and breakfast, and it was the best smoothie I have ever had.  The restaurant at the bottom of the hotel, Nobu, was awesome.  There are a few little shops here and there and it is attached to Stanley Korshak, which was fun to look at.  We went to a seafood restaurant across the street also and it was excellent.  I think it was perfect for two nights.

  • Check out the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine. It's a really amazing place. We haven't stayed there, but I've stopped by several times to walk around, and it blew me away.

  • In DFW, we've stayed at the Mansion on Turtle Creek, Crescent Court, Ritz Carlton, and the Four Seasons in Las Colinas. I'd recommend any of them for a wonderful short getaway, but my favorite is Four Seasons because you really feel like you've gotten away from all the hustle and bustle of the city, but it's close enough to drive into Dallas. The spa is free (unless you want a massage or treatment), and we usually use the free fitness facility or take a free fitness class (yoga is great!). The on-site restaurant is good, but we like to eat at the hotel lounge/bar area - can't beat a Fat Tire beer and truffle fries! If you like BBQ, there is a Sonny Bryan's across the street from the hotel. For shopping, there's Northpark, Highland Park, or the shops around Knox Street (they have a big Crate and Barrel!) The next time we are down there, we want to visit the Nasher Sculpture Center.
