It's official!
I'm in my BFF Brenna's wedding! She is getting married Aug 19 2012 at a place in downtown Philly that is really amazing. She asked me and her other long time neighborhood friend last night at the make up party.
Question for you ladies, did you ask girls to be in the wedding "as bridesmaids" and then specify later a MOH? Brenna didn't say that we would be Maid/ matron of honor but I had anticipated she might. Just wondering how you went about your choosing and informing process. Of course I am thrilled to be in her wedding but just a little confused thats all.

When I asked my sister I specifically asked her to be my MOH and then told all the other girls that she was. It was very clear from the beginning.

Yeah, I think she would have been clear from the outset if you were MOH. Does she have a sister or cousin that would be a natural choice for MOH?
I asked all my friends to be BM's by sending them cute little personalized cards. My sister was my MOH, and although we aren't close lately, I didn't have a choice bc I didn't want to disrespect my parents. Bummer...because she didn't do jack sh*t to help me or take an interest in my plans. Oh well...that's a story for another time....

Brenna's the only girl, and her friend Laura and I have been like her sisters her whole life so thats why I thought we might be MOHs. She did not say so and so is my MOH so that adds to the confusion. :-/ I don't know who else would be "ranked higher" than us, not to sound full of myself but we literally have been friends since she was an infant and BFFs especially the last like 7 years.

It's entirely possible she might not choose a MOH at all, since she might have a hard time choosing? Or choose both of you? I guess wait and see...I'm rooting for you to beat Laura for the spot if it comes down to it haha
Now I'm reminded of the Friends episode where Monica had a little pageant to choose a MOH between Phoebe and Rachel LOL

I told my BMs and MOH right away. I have 4 very close friends from college and wanted to make sure there was not confusion or expectations! Before I even met my DH, my MOH and I promised each other we would be each other's MOHs :P I would wait it out, maybe she picked his sister to be MOH.

I asked Christy and my sister right away to be my MOH's. Then I asked my cousins and the other 2 friends to be BMs.

Mine was a little tricky also - I have a lot of close girlfriends that I could have asked from across all phases of my life, but I chose the three who have been my "sisters of the heart" since we were all single and in our twenties, and who I've kind of grown as a woman with. I could have chosen any one of them for MOH, as we're all quite close, but I chose the one who I tend to gravitate to the most, and she was the first to learn of the engagement, and I did let her know right away that she was MOH. In my heart, they all were though :-))
