So I applied for a new job, and it's one that I *really* want - not only would it serve to get me the F out of where I am now, but it's really perfect for my skills and seems interesting. I sent the materials in yesterday via email...now how do I follow up? I wouldn't normally, but I feel like it might be worth it in this case. I'm terrible on the phone, particularly in situations like this - I get all awkward, so I'm wondering if it would be appropriate to write them note and be like, hey, just wanted to make sure you got my stuff! Or should I suck it up and call? What would I say?
Re: Ack, help!
Definitely suck it up and call.
Sorry!
S'okay. That's what I thought, I just needed someone to tell me it.
If you haven't called already - write out a short general script of what you would like to say/ask to keep yourself on track and from stumbling over your introduction.
good luck!
oh goodness - I have been in your shoes lots of times since January. If there is a contact name and number, I would call. "hi this is Megan M. I recently applied for such and such position and I wanted to be sure the hiring manager/office has received the electronic materials. If I need to send anything else, please let me know."
I'm sure you can come up with something more creative than that :-)
