Yum!Really, really hoping my schools will have their schedules ready so I can get my schedule all figured out. Re: We're at Thursday

  • emily, you must be exhausted!  And now i want cake...

had a craptastic run last night (went with a friend who was dying to go with me but that doesnt run...so i slowly ran 3/4 mile, she was so far behind me i stopped.  she caught up, we walked 1/4 mile, and then she turned around and i ran another mile and a quarter.  then it poured as i was finishing up.  i really wanted to do a 5 mile run last night.  grrrr.) but made a good dinner.  hit the hay and was alseep by 10:15, perfect!

however, this morning i am already in a tissy.  Gerren did not clean up before he went to bed and there were dishes with food on them everywhere.  and as i was pulling out of the driveway i realized i forgot to thaw out the sausage i was using for dinner so i had to turn around to take that out of the freezer.  then my gas light came on and because of construction it took me a good 15 minutes to get gas (but SCORE! i got it for $2.69/gal!), and then there was serious traffic on the highway so my top speed was a lovely 68.  add all of that to me being tired and not wanting to be at work at all today...

i just want it to be tomorrow at 9 so i can go to bed and sleep for 12 hours.

  • Props to you for going with your friend! That would probably be how I'd start out but I don't think I'd go with someone who's an avid runner.

And gas for $2.69?!? I'm super jealous. I thought I was scoring yesterday with $3.31/gal!

  • Last night was craptastic. Greg was in an AWFUL mood so that caused us to get in a mini fight but not real fight. The really funny part of it all was Pierce came to protect me. He hates when we yell, we call him our hippie dog he just wants everyone to get along. He sat right next to me on the couch and then he sat almost over me and laid on the bedroom floor on my side of the room which he never does.

Jealous of all your cheap gas I just paid $3.53.

All I have to do is get through today and half day tomorrow and we will be on vacation!!

  • Boo for lack of sleep and craptastic runs.

Yay for red velvet and cheap gas (I paid 3.55 at the CHEAP station on Monday!)

I need to stop being lazy.  Finally caught up on the DVR - White Collar season finale O.M.G.  Got our first rent check from the tenant (woohoo) and can pick up Baby Q's pictures this afternoon.  14 more hours of work til the weekend...

  • it should be noted, gas is still $3.69-3.79.per gallon here, but I had a dollar of per gallon coupon :)
  • Ahoy comrades.

Last night I had dinner with Alicia at Matyson. The food was wonderful and so was the company. It was great to meet Alicia face to face, she really is a lovely person, very polite and witty and curses a blue streak just like me. But goddamn we forgot to take a photo! Next time!

After that I then headed home on the slow train to China. Christ it took forever. I went to Pathmark for three produce items and spent $40, WTF. At home I unloaded groceries, packed my lunch and gym bag and walked/jogged with the dogs for 15 min to tire them out.

I got in bed to read at 10 and got a tearful phone call from my good SIL. Evil SIL is trying to insinuate herself down the shore during their vacation week and MIL is of course letting this go on. Really idiots? GFY! I am so glad this is not my blood family. I have some doozies too, we all do, but Evil SIL and MIL are really outer flarking limits. I assured good SIL she is right and went back to reading.

New blog is up, please follow if you care to! http://weinerwhistle.blogspot.com/2011/08/sin-is-coming-and-it-smells-like-liquor.html

  • Emilyann, I emailed you the recipes yesterday, hope you got them!

Shauni - Holler for $2.69 gas. Rage at slow run and men leaving plates with food out. MFD left a bag of chips open last night, all night. Wasty McWasterson, enough!

Also, sadly, at 9 p.m. tomorrow I will still be an hour away from a 2.5 hour drive to a friend's house. zzzzzzzzzzz in advance.

  • Morning all.  Seriously hungover.  Just had an hour meeting w/ our owner.  I was in no shape to deal with project assignments and what not.

Had an amazing time at kickball last night.  Played my fat arse off, made a catch to beat all catches (picture arms outstretched, grabbing ball by fingertips only, mid-stride, with a full cup o beer...epic), got on base every time I kicked (scored 3 runs) and had the boys calling me MVP.  Was super fun.  Apparently when I don't pay to play, I do much better.

BM was there and up to her usual shady antics of flirting w/ anyone w/ a peep.  Makes me extremely embarrassed for her.  Married w/ two kids and a green light to cheat doesn't make it ok in my book.  So awkward.  Wish she would stop cuz I miss hanging out with her.

Boo hiss to bad runs, lack of sleep, lazy husbands and fighting.  Two snaps in a circle for cheap gas, rent checks and dinner w/ Alicia (although lack of picture makes it only one snap in a circle).

  • Morning!

Whohoo for red velvet cake and cheap gas!!  Gas here is still $3.85 boo.

We leave for Alaska TODAY!!!!! yiiiiiippppppppppppppiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Hola Girlies!!!

Dinner last night was AWESOME!  Steph is even more fabulous in real life.  Can you believe it?!  It was great.  I really did feel like I was sitting down and chatting with an old friend.  It was so comfortable.   I can't believe we just figured out we work so closely so frequently.

After that, I did bridesmaid work.  We shopped for bachorlette party supplies, and found a sexy dress to make the Bride wear on Saturday.  We are heading to New York for debauchery.

Later on, I stumbled upon a list of obnoxious misspellings.  It was a link on a site Steph posted before.  OMG.  I think there was something wrong with me.  I couldn't breathe.  I was laughing SO hard at these http://www.happyplace.com/3645/the-best-obnoxious-responses-to-misspellings-on-facebook

As for gas prices...Chris is always complaining that I don't know how much I pay for gas.  It's awful.  Proves how bad I am at money.

  • Morning all. Mowed our lawn yesterday and met hubs after work to go to our county fair. Watched the grandstand show of crappy "quad racers" and some decent MX bike stunts. Couldn't resist a $7 elephant ear, but then regretted it b/c they PILED too much custard (plus some chocolate and powdered sugar) on it and basically ruined it. :( made me sad I wasted the cash b/c I only ate about half of it. This is why we don't usually go to the fair, not generally worth it. :/

Today is supposed to be another wonderful day for weather (high only 79 with less humidity), so maybe I'll get the motivation to go dig up some of my potatoes and cut some more rhubarb to freeze. Also need to weedwhack one of the lawns... Don't know if I'll get around to that. Etching some mugs for an order is first on the list though.

Jealous of your dinner meeting Steph/Alicia, and wish I wasn't stuck in the middle of nowhere Michigan.... so many of you are technically so close to each other. Bummer for me.

  • oh, and way jealous of cheap gas too. We are sitting at $3.64 currently. And that's low for us lately.

    Good job on kickball Brew!

  • Steph - I got it and told J about it so we're going to go through and pick out some he can do because I can't do secret ingredients and spaghetti every other night :)

Glad the dinner went well! I'll join the bandwagon about being not really close to anyone in GA.

Great job kicking arse in kickball Misty!

P.S. Anyone going to see/saw "The Help"??

  • I'm annoyed with no real right to be today.  I could have sworn that the manager of my lab told me that he and my boss (who hasn't been here all week) would be OOT today, so I was planning on taking it easy today and leaving early.  My experiments today have long wait times, so instead of using that time wisely I was going to read my book, and leaving early would be awesome because we have dinner reservations at Fogo de Chao tonight.  Turns out, he was telling me that my boss will BE here today, so boo on that plan.  :(  I have no right to sulk, considering I should be working hard, but I am anyway.

On the other hand, I'm still excited about dinner!  I'm going to wear a fancy purple dress - you might remember, I bought it for a wedding but didn't wear it because it turned out to be similar to the bridesmaid's dresses.  So even though it's more dressy than I need to get for dinner, I'm still excited!

  • Alicia- I never know how much I pay for gas. The only reason I knew today was bc I used Greg's card to get gas and got a receipt (which I never do) so I just look at that.

  • Alicia, did you see the shart one on that misspellings site? I hyperventilated reading that. hahaha.

I agree, like sitting down with an old friend. We will do it again!

I also never know how much gas is. I need it, I buy it, I wince when I look at the screen for the total, then the price floats right out of my mind.

  • Misty - kickass kickball night! Sorry your friend is still being a skeevy fool.

Emilyann- I read The Help. I don't think I'll see the movie, at least not until it's on HBO.

  • Not sure if I can actually function enough to go to work again today. I closed the restaurant Monday and Tuesday (1 and 12:30 am), did laundry and was back there at 11 am yesterday to work until midnight without any sort of break throughout the day. Boo. Today I have a 9 hour shift and am hoping to be out of there earlier than that.

This weekend I am going to Milwaukee for one of my BM's bridal shower and bachelorette party! I am also going to visit my brother tomorrow and then meet up with friends that I haven't seen since our move. So looking forward to it!

  • My long weekend is around the corner and I can smell it. Yesterday's day at work was just blah. I'm so over it but can't do anything until I find a better job that is closer than home (and more pay would be super awesome too). DH and I did not go for a run but since I got a 3 mile walk in with the dog, I didn't feel too guilty not going; this week we've been in a funk. He is off work today so he's going to  finish up my birthday gifts & he should be able to get the item he said the store was out of, his words not mine. no clue what he has up his sleeve for gifts - gotta love him since he puts effort and thought into it.

shauni - so jeal of paying under $3/gallon but how did you get a coupon? good job on your run too.

  • morning!!

I'm in an ok mood.  I was in a great mood, but then some 50 something year old nit wit who thinks he is the smartest man alive, (but really we wonder how he even dresses himself) ,at work, pissed me off.  Thankfully, my boss is backing me up.  Stick out tongue

Thought I'd be a nice wife last night and not only bring home dinner, but then mow the front lawn to help J out, so all he had to do was the back.  I'm paying for it today.  I'm sneezing like crazy!!!  AND, when J got done and came in, he said he doesn't like how i mow b/c it doesn't look good.  FINE!  Your pregnant wife will no longer help!  Hmph!  Smile

If our office windows could open, I think I would be hanging out of it all day.  It's gorgeous out!  I want to be anywhere but inside!

  • Ah, so f'ing glad it's Thursday.  This feels like it's been a really long week, and I'm really looking forward to my weekend.

H actually went to the library last night like I'd asked, and got us 4 baby name books, so that's my lunch activity today, to start going through one and making a list, so this baby can come home with a name that's not Baby Boy D_________.  Big Smile

Had a nice healthy dinner of salmon, green beans, and a bit of potato, and then H and I took the pooch for a walk to our local yogurt shop.  Haven't done it in a while since it's been so hot here, and the pooch seemed pretty tired at the end (~2mi).  I was good and got the $1 Wednesday tiny cup of yogurt - yum, angel food cake flavor.

H got a new laptop yesterday and a coworker who just finished his MBA actually bought it so he got an extra $100 gift card (Office Depot deal).  Holla!

We talked last night about plunking a chunk of change into the stock market in an Etrade account, and I'm excited, but nervous.  It's mostly extra cash that's built up in our checking that we need to do something with, but long term we'd use it for a downpayment on my next car, which we're about a year out from wanting.  Hope we at least haven't lost any by then!

  • I'm soooo out of it today. Have been all week. Still exhausted, despite the 8+ hours of sleep.

H and I went bowling w/ BM and MoH last night. They're finally moving out of BM's parents' house (which is like an hour away from us), so they've been more social. Plus, I think MoH wants to kill BM's fam, so is trying to stay way from the house as much as possible.

I'm trying to get H to join a bowling league w/ BM. They've done it in the past and H needs something to do and I need some time w/o him.

Well I'm off to lunch. H is taking me to McDs. I swear, after this week, we're only going to go out once a week! All this eating out is burning a hole in our pockets and adding inches to our waistbands.

(An unmatched left parenthesis creates an unresolved tension that will stay with you all day.
