WWYD? MIL advice

So MIL got Carly summer clothes on clearance. C has so many summer clothes that she still hasn?t worn! And they are probably too big for her. Do you think I should just try to return them for 12 or 18 mo so she can wear them next year? Or should I text MIL to ask if they had larger sizes and if she would mind if I exchange them? Don?t want to piss off the MIL (well more than I probably already do, lol).

Re: WWYD? MIL advice

  • I'd just exchange them without jumping through hoops. It's just sensible that the kid needs clothes that fits.
  • Yup - I agree with Larissa. You don't want the clothes sitting around forever and then, two years later, the tags are still on them and the kiddo never wore them [that's been happening a lot in my house lately].

  • I would just exchange the clothes for stuff she could actually wear.  I'd also kind of casually mention to MIL that is what you did.  Just tell her what you told us.....that, as much as you appreciate the clothes, C has way too many summer clothes as it is so you exchanged them for a larger size.

This is what I would do.  That way she won't expect to Carly wear those outfits.  My MIL does this but is usually with stuff that I can't take back and it usually not my style.
