Yo Annie Oakley aka Cakenbake
What are you packing?
We have four guns at our house, a Glock .45 in the nightstand that I like although I'd rather get something a little smaller for me with less kickback.
Re: Yo Annie Oakley aka Cakenbake
Lol. We have three right now, a Springfield 9 that's mine (DH bought it for me right after we married and he went on deployment), a Springfield 40 that's DH's, and a smaller 40 (I think) that's DH's carry version.
He wants me to get a small 38 to carry, but I'm trying to talk him into a 380. I'm just not familiar with anything other than automatic, though I understand the "no malfunctions" argument. I also like having more than 6 bullets, lol. I'm a good shot, but doubt I would be if I need to fire in actual defense.
I like my 9 a LOT! He previously had a glock and something else that he traded in for mine because they were just too big and kicked back a lot. Once he got to use it a few times, he decided to get his 40.

P.S. On the safe keeping note, we have one of ours on top of the nightstand in a small safe. It's tied to the foot of the bed (so nobody can just walk off with it), and there's a finger-touch keypad to open it. Apparently in Florida, you're legally required to keep it "secured" if there are children present. We used to just keep ours on top of a tall bureau, but we're working on that for all of them.
It does make me feel better with the boys being as curious/explorative/nosy as they are!
