Isn't this usually the best episode of the season? I'm like halfway through and I keep waiting for it to get good.

I hated most of it... I kept thinking about how I wanted to shove a sandwich in Katie Holmes' mouth so she would STOP TALKING. She had no idea what she was talking about! When she told Marko that she liked when he "jumped up" I almost died. I thought being a judge meant you should have a least SOME dance background?
The stepping was hard to watch...

I am watching now on DVR so I haven't seen it all... I am definitely not on the edge of my seat.
So far, I did like the "Hustle Hard" hip hop routine because I really love Joshua.
OMG- Katie... such a let down to have her guest judge for the finale.
I still love Sasha and Melanie as dancers in general but this is the last show- I should be cheering, clapping, crying, etc. I am not.

The finale was a disappointment, but to be fair this season was very underwhelming for me as a whole. With the exception of the pieces with Allison in them I just wasn't feeling it. I think the choreography was just pretty bad and felt like recycled material.
I am sure I am in the minority but the Melanie love is over the top and occassionally not even accurate.
Please don't even get me started on Katie. I was embarassed for her.
I am hoping next season turns it around!
And this post is all kinds of negative. Oops.
Extremely underwhelmed. I'm rooting for Sasha to win, followed by Melanie, Marko, and then that other guy.
I only finished watching an hour ago and I've already kind of forgot what routines were done. Terrible sign for a finale.
Poor hip hop. You died a slow painful death on SYTYCD.
We finally get some decent hip hop choreo that doesn't involve lovers dancing around trees and there's no one to do it justice.
That gumboot routine could have been fire with the right people dancing. Instead we get two guys that look like smurfs. I loved C's routine too - Joshua looked great doing it but totally outdanced Tadd. Loved how Joshua was just a hair behind the beat to give it that extra swagger.
You know how I always complain about the direction on this show? Watch the cha cha rountine. I honestly think that the guy in the director booth was drinking during that dance. I also got a chuckle when they caught a camera man on stage - was it the housewife routine?
I had high hopes for the Sasha-Mark routine, but it was just sort of meh. I did like the Marco-Lauren routine... I thought it was really beautiful. I liked Marco and Sasha in the broadway "What Lola Wants" routine as well. Melanie does great solos. I also liked the Melanie-Mark routine, but I don't remember a lot about it. Angsty couple in love, no doubt. I was just thinking how pretty Mark looked.
I fast forwarded through much of the judges comments. Katie Holmes was just god awful. Seriously, I think my eight year old cousin who was one of the sugar plum fairies at her recent ballet recital could have done better.
I would be fine with Sasha, Melanie, or Marco winning. I think Sasha is the best all around dancer, but I really like the other two as well.
I don't understand how the two judges for the finale were not someone like Tyce or Travis or C or any other person who has been with the show for a long time. If Kenny mentioned the all-star at the top of his judge's comments one more time, I was going to reach through my TV and throat punch him.
I also found the dances to be very "meh." I used to like Sonya, but I think her stuff this season has been sub-par. I am rooting for Melanie, but I think Sasha might win. Out of the guys, I love Tadd because I think he is just so pretty tolook at, and the way that Marko stands there during the judges' comments looking like he is going to totally break down really turns me off.
Katie Holmes, I have always thought you were totally off your rocker for marrying Tom Cruise, and your comments on that judges' panel did nothing to change my opinion of you.
I was happy that Mary Murphy called Sasha and Tadd on the fact that their Cha-Cha was not so good. I really missed having her on the judges' panel last season, and the fact that she is back this year has really improved the show for me.

This whole season has been meh, including last night. Didn't they judges used to save until the top 10, then America made the total decision? I didn't like the judges deciding right into the finale.
I like Melanie, but as someone says she dances heavy. I never feel her when she's trying to be sweet or demure. Sasha can carry off other characters really well. Marko really turned it on last night. Except for the gumboot routine. PP was dead right that they looked like smurfs. TERRIBLE.
As for the judges- Katie lended NOTHING to the show. She couldn't even say that she didn't like a dance. The industry guy seemed to just want to do casting. I liked Mary more than ever this season. She wasn't quite as screechy. Nigel took some truth serum last night. I was shocked he told the guys that they didn't stand a chance.
They could have NOT done that entire show last night and it wouldn't have made a difference.
What a waste of time.
I'm hoping Sasha wins.... mainly because I'm sick of Melanie's giggly "thank you. thank you so much!" response to EVERY SINGLE THING the judges say. It's like groundhog day.

So true and a bit surprising, given that this should be Tadd's strongest style. Although he was a little off last night in general. Not the best timing given that it was the finale.
I loved seeing the All-Stars last night though. Frankly they were the best part of the entire show. Maybe that's why Kenny was constantly talking about them. I literally didn't recognize Mark at first. He's really built up his body. I remember him being much more lean and far less muscular. And I adore Joshua.
Completely agree. I had ff'd through Cat talking and the dance intro so had no idea who the All Star was. About halfway through I decided it had to be Mark but had to rewind to be sure. He's gorgeous, but wow he's a lot bigger now.
That was probably my favorite routine of the night.
