Are they all of her sorority sisters or something? One of W's cousins did that; I can see not wanting to pick and choose.

In that case, I would recommend taking 1 shot (of whatever hard-A you choose) for each WP member - 1) first for each WP member during the processional, 2) again for each WP member during the recessional, 3) again for each WP member announced at the start of the reception.
You might get alcohol poisoning, but that will then give you a good excuse to leave the wedding early.

LOL. This sounds like a fantastic idea, but H is the BM, so I don't know if it's kosher to get carted out of a wedding on a stretcher when your SO is part of the wedding party.
I have other friends that I can sit with, so I'll just suck it up and be a good wedding guest.... while feeling like 18 people in the WP is excessive.
It's going to be a huge PITA for your H, if he's the one responsible for orchestrating a Bachelor party involving 8 GM (assuming the WP is split evenly). Give him my sympathies.

One of my very good friends had 20 adults in her wedding party (10 BMs, 10 GMs), plus at least 3 or 4 kids. It was rather comical watching the photographer try to figure out a way to arrange them all for group pics at the church after the ceremony.
For us...3 BMs, 3GMs, one ringbearer. That was it. I probably would've been fine with just 2 each, but DH wanted 3, and I'll admit I like having even "sides."

famiy politics. half of our wp were family that "had" to be part of it for a "tradition" we've never heard of. the other half at that point i picked to piss off mil. "too many white people" she said. *eyeroll* or "i've never met her, why is she in your slideshow?!"

hysterical for you guys. my MIL is the most. racist. person. ever. occasionally i fight back at her, telling her that she shouldn't judge someone based on where their ancestors are from.....she thinks *she's* hysterical, when she told her nephew she wasn't going to his wedding if he decides to ever marry a korean. i YELLED at her for that. i can't stand her racism.

this.. but now that i'm married, i also don't see the point of a big wedding. small, simple, do exactly what you wanna do. don't have a wp because it is just drama. the end.
