How to set up invites to print 2 on one 8.5x11 paper?

I just designed an invitation in illustrator and the invite is 5.5 x 8.5. I'd like to print two invites on one 8.5x11, but I don't know how to set that up in my illustrator file. Currently, it is just one invite that prints in the center of the page. And the invite would need to be turned sideways (to fit on the 8.5x11) since it's a vertical invite. Can anyone help me figure this out in illustrator (I'm new to AI) ;)? Thanks so much! :-)

  • I'm not familiar with AI but I know in Word you would have to adjust the margins to zero.  Maybe try that?

  • Unless your printer will print full bleed, you won't be able to fit two invites that are 5.5 by 8.5 on one sheet of 8.5 by 11 paper. You can, however, shrink to fit when you hit print.

In order to fit them onto one sheet, just copy the entire design, make a new document that's 8.5 by 11 and then paste it on there. Hit Command + G to group, copy and paste the grouped design and arrange it on your document that way.
