Ok, i think i'm the last person on the planet (besides my parents) that doesn't have a smart phone.
We're with verizon but unfortunately I'm not due for an upgrade until feb of next year
, and the damn things are so expensive to buy without a new contract!!!
I told myself as soon as i got a new job that i'd bite the bullet and buy one anyway.....well job starts monday, so i'm looking into which one i wanna buy...
But i've looked on-line and am totally at a loss as to which one is the best for the money. By the "best" i mean quick internet, user friendly features, etc.
anyone have any recommendations? I've heard the droid is a good pick, but ughh, which one.??
H has a palm pixi plus & and i get so frustrated with the damn thing....very user UN-friendly...touch screen blows & it's kinda slow. - everytime i try to use it i want to throw it across the room. Not a good feature for a phone u plan on using everyday...LOL.
Any suggestions?
Re: smart phone - recomendations?
THIS!!
Yes, this is what i'm looking for!! I'm sure all the phones have their "ticks" and unpleasantries (sp?) but I'm looking for one that doesn't make me run it over and then set it on fire. Is that too much to ask?!?
So, this is a good start, I will take a look at both the options listed above....i'm going to go in open minded (to the verizon store) but I don't want to get duped by the sales person into buying this "all holy of phones" that can beam in scotty, but is so techy that i can't figure it out....
Man, that statement makes me seem old, it's not that i can't figure that stuff out, but i only want to pay for what i will use on a day to day.
OH, yay!! about the new job.
I'm sooo excited. I havebeen working at this great co since may covering for the HR Rep on maternity leave -loving it, well she said "my baby's too cool, i'm not coming back!"
BUT i had already been applying to other places....so I had 4 interviews & 3 phone screens last week....man was i beat, then I got an offer from on of them this past Tuesday -the one i really wanted (well one of the one's i wanted)
I feel kinda bad b/c the current company wants me to apply, and i would love to stay, but now i'm really into this new deal....so enuff about the current co....
The new company is a "leader in commercial cleaning services at competitive prices, using environmentally sustainable products and practices" in baltimore wash metro area.
Ha ha, straight from the website....so, they use only eco-friendly products, which I think is kinda cool. Anyway, I will be their HR generalist person reporting directly to the owner. It's a smaller co, but I'm just really inspired by the owner....she's awesome. She started the biz in 1987 with her bro at 15 yrs old!!! So, what, that makes her only like 39 yrs old, she has her degrees, is a COO of her own co, pretty cool. Plus she's way down to earth and open to new ideas. This should be fun.
Well, I should get started with my day, sorry for writing a book!
thanks ladies and keep the recommendations coming in you have a fav!

Do not get the Samsung Fascinate!!!! I have had more problems with this #!@$% phone!! I love love loved it at first and then it started acting up. I really regret not returning it 5 days after I got it when the Iphone came out. I just never hear anyone say a bad thing about the Iphone.
just looked at some online, and i have to say....i'm liking the look of the iphone too....expensive as hell w/o an upgrade available tho.
Hmmmm, maybe i can talk h into letting me use his upgrade discount...
I may have something i can offer to help persuade him....
ha ha!

Congrats!!!
I had a Blackberry Curve and I really liked it, but I just moved up to the iphone and WOAH. It's way better. I love the app store and just the overall features of the phone.
Oh the BB I couldn't set multiple alarms which drove me crazy. I can on the iphone. I also like the texting and the touch screen is way easier than I was expecting. The iphone is much faster online and the bigger internet screen is great.
The only downsides to the iphone I've found so far is the darn autocorrect - you really have to watch what you text - maybe there's a way to turn it off, but I haven't looked. I also forget to hit "end" when I'm on a call so someone could easily still be on the line and I wouldn't know. Other than that I love it. To the point of slightly being obsessed with it and I can't believe I waited so long to get it.
