ReidsGirl...how are you settling?
I just wondered how you've been doing on getting settled into NL so far.
Have you guys finally received working debit cards and whatnot? Are you settled into a permanent place now or still in between? How are the boys doing and how have things been going with your H's job?
Update me when you can!
Re: ReidsGirl...how are you settling?
Thanks so much for thinking of me! We FINALLY are getting settled! We are in our permanant place and I love it here! We are about 15 minutes north of Rotterdam and have a huge garden out in the country! And the bonus is that our owners live next door and have offered to let us use their boat any time we want! We live on a really pretty river! There are sheep and horses across the fence from us; which my DS loves!
All of our neighbors speak English and all of them have brought flowers over and invited me to coffee. What more could I ask for??
We got our sea container last week and I have slowly been unpacking!!
My DH is at language school for the week so I have been on my own with the unpacking!! So glad he comes back tomorrow! He said it is really tough! But learning it is part of his job. He thinks his job is going to be tough but he thinks he is going to enjoy it!
I now have a working credit card, a new cell phone, and my own car! (I am a small town girl that isn't used to city living, so being able to drive is good for me! And we are only 5 minutes from a little village with shopping, etc.) Life is sooo much easier than a month ago!
The boys are doing ok. I found an English speaking playgroup that my older DS seems to enjoy. And the baby is doing great. The only problem we have run into is that both of them no longer sleep through the night! They BOTH use to sleep from 7pm to 7am and now they both wake up about 2 times a night! Ugh! So I am tired, but other than that they are great!
Sorry this is a book! I just haven't really had anyone ask how I am doing other than family. And it is nice! Thanks!

Oh wonderful to hear! I've been thinking about you and meaning to ask.
What city/village your guys in exactly? My brother-in-law is currently living in Rotterdam while attending university there. We're about, ehhh, 1hr 15min from you. I'm in Oisterwijk in between Eindhoven and Tilburg.
I can imagine that the time difference is probably really hard for the boys to get used to. We're hoping to keep C as much no her Dutch schedule as possible while we're in the States for 2 weeks. She has a perfect sleeping schedule now and I want to mess with it as little as possible.
If you're in the mood for a get-together soon then let me know. I can show you around our area a bit. We're leaving next Friday for the US but after we're back I have my schedule pretty open.
I live in "De Rotte" but my mailing address is Bergschenhoek. Maybe when you get back I can come out your way! I really want to see as much as possible while here, so a get-together in your area would be great! Or if you are ever in Rotterdam, you can come visit my area!
Good luck with keeping C's sleeping schedule on track. Hopefully she has no troublle with it!
