1. If you could go back in time to witness any invention or discovery, what would you choose to see?
maybe the invention of the computer - it's evolved so much in my lifetime alone, i'd like to see the first one and what it was like
2. What's your all-time favorite (or most memorable) commercial jingle?
there was some prescription drug (celebrex maybe?) and the jingle was "celebrate, celebrate, come on celebraaaaate" LOL anyone else but me ever sing along to that? it was so catchy...for a pharmaceutical company
3. Are you more likely spend a gift of $1000 on practical things (food, bills, etc.) or on something you've been wanting but couldn't afford?
i'm too practical to spend it all. i'd probably put half in savings and go shopping something i really want with the other half
4. What was the last thing you broke that you're really upset about?
i dunno...
5. Plans for the weekend?
tonight - movie date with my mom, aunt and cousin - so excited! we are seeing "the help"
saturday - probably beach, if the sun stays out!
sunday - it will be rainy, so i'll do my errands and food shopping and cleaning that day. i also have to begin two different calligraphy projects.
happy friday , ladies!!
1. I would want to see what the process people went through for totally random and stupid inventions like the shake weight or the magic bullet. but i'm silly like that
2. 1-800-54-GIANTS (it's a glass company. i think it's national but I forget)
3. I'd probably do half shopping and half practical stuff
4. Well I suppose it technically broke. I went rafting last year and brought my flip video (hubby got it for me for my wedding gift) and I had a waterproof case on it but it was attached (rather flimsily) by a cord that I strapped on my vest. Well, at one point we could swim in the river and as I was getting pulled onto the raft the cord broke. i was pretty miserable about it. dh was ok with it though. it's probably somewhere on the dead river in maine. ::sigh::
5. Three day weekend!!!!!!!!! We're going to the Cape. Saturday we're going to PTown with a ton of friends, it should be a lot of fun!

3. Are you more likely spend a gift of $1000 on practical things (food, bills, etc.) or on something you've been wanting but couldn't afford? Currently on bills to pay down some credit cards a couple of years ago probably something we couldn't afford normally.
4. What was the last thing you broke that you're really upset about? One of the really nice glass pitchers I got for our wedding a couple weeks ago when we were picking up the table after company. BOO!!
5. Plans for the weekend? The kids have their last two shows of the summer tonight and tomorrow night and Sunday we are having a couple friends over for brunch.
2. What's your all-time favorite (or most memorable) commercial jingle? I really only remember the ones I hate, so I can't really say what I love.
3. Are you more likely spend a gift of $1000 on practical things (food, bills, etc.) or on something you've been wanting but couldn't afford? Something I've been wanting but couldn't afford. Everyday things are boring.
4. What was the last thing you broke that you're really upset about? The clasp on my necklace. It wasn't expensive or anything (it was from Target), but I really liked that necklace. I might have to go see if I can find another one.
5. Plans for the weekend? Relaxing. We don't plan on doing anything and I'm really looking forward to it.
1. I would like to see the discovery of the Americas by the europeans. Imagine you think there is China/ the orient if you keep sailing east and you find a whole new continent!
2. I like the Folgers? (coffee at least) commercial where a guy comes home at Christmas and his sister is waiting for him. "You're my present this year" It reminds me of running out to my oldest brother when I was like 13 and he came home for Christmas after being away at school (first semester away from home). I missed him a lot and was happy he was home.
3. I would save some of it and use some towards a splurge. My bills are always paid off immediately so I wouldn't need it for that.
4. I don't know . . .
5. Tonight DH and SS are going to a concert so I get a few hrs alone at home (very rare!). Tomorrow I'll do some more weeding of our overgrown ugly ferns and then go to Brenna's engagement party. Sunday no plans as of now so maybe some quality time with DH or even brew beer with him!

3. Are you more likely spend a gift of $1000 on practical things (food, bills, etc.) or on something you've been wanting but couldn't afford? Probably half and half it.
4. What was the last thing you broke that you're really upset about? I broke a decorative jug/pot that Jeff's (deceased) dad got in Germany while he was in the Army. I have all of the pieces saved though, and they are big pieces, so I might try to salvage it...it breaks my heart thinking about it...
5. Plans for the weekend? Jeff's sister and her BF are here, so we will be hanging out with them. Not sure what is all on the agenda yet, but Sunday we have a demo derby (again, so hick, but wildly fun - haha!).

HAHA that was all Laurie's fault! Mandah's answer also reminded me that I also love the Empire Carpet commercial....."800-588-2300...EMPIRRRRRRRE (today)"
2. What's your all-time favorite (or most memorable) commercial jingle?
3. Are you more likely spend a gift of $1000 on practical things (food, bills, etc.) or on something you've been wanting but couldn't afford? I would probably put it in my new car fund.
4. What was the last thing you broke that you're really upset about? A glass pitcher that we got for our wedding.
5. Plans for the weekend? Not much DH and I are going to the beach next week we leave on Wed. so this weekend will be pretty low key.
Yay for Friday Five!
If you could go back in time to witness any invention or discovery, what would you choose to see? Tough one! Let me think...I'd probably have to say talking motion pictures!
2. What's your all-time favorite (or most memorable) commercial jingle? "I'd like to teach the world to sing, in perfect harmony...I'd like to buy the world a Coke, and furnish it with love..." from the 70's, when I was kid. That commercial can still make me teary-eyed. Just the purity of the message.
3. Are you more likely spend a gift of $1000 on practical things (food, bills, etc.) or on something you've been wanting but couldn't afford? Hands down, something I've been wanting. Specifically, a new telephoto lens for my camera!

1. If you could go back in time to witness any invention or discovery, what would you choose to see? Probably the TV b'cuz I'm such a big couch potato.
2. What's your all-time favorite (or most memorable) commercial jingle? I don't think I have one. I've always used commercials as time to use the bathroom, run into another room, call people, etc. And now the lovely invention of the DVR....fast forward is a blessing.
3. Are you more likely spend a gift of $1000 on practical things (food, bills, etc.) or on something you've been wanting but couldn't afford? For as much as I'd rather spend it on something nice, I can pretty much guarantee that I'd use it to pay off a couple of my store charge cards.
4. What was the last thing you broke that you're really upset about? Last year when we were moving in, Mike knocked one of the shelves off the dresser for my curio and it broke. It's nothing that can't be replaced, so I wasn't devastated over it; but I was just annoyed because it's not cheap to replace glass shelves. I still haven't gotten it replaced yet...
5. Plans for the weekend? Chilling tonight, maybe seeing my cousins later. Kickboxing in the morning tomorrow, then possible family get together with the ILs (as of now nobody can get along long enough to make up their mind on whether it's cancelled or still going on), although at this point I'd kill to have tickets for the Kid Rock show at Comerica Park... DH mowing my mom's lawn Sunday so I'll probably hit the grocery store.
