I fell out of bed this morning.

More like launched myself out of bed. It was an awful way to wake up.

When the alarm went off I was in a deep sleep and thought I was on the other side of the bed (I roll over there when H gets up). When it registered that it was my alarm going off I flung myself over there to get it and shot off the bed.

Literally I half flew off the bed and my head hit the dresser. My shoulder hit the ground and then my hip and the rest of me followed. I was so stunned and half stuck between the bed and the dresser.

Luckily H was home and that was acutally the first alarm going off so he helped me up and I cried for like 20 minutes. It was just so confusing and disorienting that I scared myself big time.

I find it funny now of course, but holy crap that sucked.

Re: I fell out of bed this morning.

  • Aww, I hope you're ok!  Can't lie, I giggled a little bit with the launching of the body from the bed but no, it's not fun, especially when you're half asleep.  Having to jolt yourself awake like that screws you up!  Hope you have a calmer day :-)

  • I laughed during it. Laughed/cried/sat there stunned. It was very odd. I wish I had it on video though. That would be hilarous.

  • Yikes.  I hope you are ok.  What a way to start the day.
  • I hope you didn't hurt yourself!  I can't lie either.... I found this story very amusing and I'm sure my co-worker wonders what I'm laughing at.
  • I'm sorry, but your description made me LOL too! But I probably would have done the same thing - cried, laughed...probably use some choice words. I hope you're ok!

  • Initial reactions before reading the entire post:

    "only you, karebear, only you"

    "oh crap! Poor karebear!"

Now that I've read the entire post:

I had a similar experience in high school except I fell backwards and hit my head on the corner of my big glass fish tank and fell on the floor. My Mom took me to the ER afterwards because I was acting all loopy like I had a concussion. It's actually a good story, maybe I should take a tip from you and blog it....

    Glad you're okay!

  • wow, sounds like that was a doozey!!  Tongue Tied

When you do something karebear - you really go for it!!!  LOL - no half-ass just falling out of bed for you, you do it hard and right the first time.

Sorry, i'm with the others, since I know the ending to this dilemma (ie - you came out unharmed) - it is pretty darn hilarious.
