Do any of you have a relative by marriage that is close to your age and ...
you consider her a "girlfriend"? My uncle who is 18 years older than me married a girl who is only 5 years older than me! Making them 13 years apart. (This is his second marriage), and my sisters and I couldn't have been happier. We really like this girl and consider her a "friend". We don't call her aunt, she is more like a sister in law. Who else has someone in the family like this?

Yes, they're my SIL's (my DH's brothers wives).
No one with big age differences in our families.
My uncle (dad's half bro) is only 1 1/2 yrs older than me. His wife, my aunt, is one month younger than me. Always thought it was weird to call them aunt & uncle...
Yes. All of DH's nieces (ranging from age 20 to 31) are more like friends to me. I'm 39 and DH is 43 but he has 6 older siblings, the oldest by 10 years. They call me "aunt" but I still feel more like they're friends.
my moms boyfriend of 12+ years , whom i refer to as my step dad and he has a little brother, 2 months older than me.... ... but its hard explaining how his brother is for all intensive purposes my "step" uncle... i grew up with his brother weve known each other since we were 8, i just tell everyone he is my brother and he tells people im his sister...
