AW Thursday (almost) - Maddie Rapunzel and Dr. Seuss dresses
Rapunzel is turning out to be a continuous work in progress. I didn't want to make a size 4 because she is starting to grow out of it. But even cutting 6 inches off the bottom of the dress it almost reaches the floor, and is way too big. So I didn't finish the bottom hem and will take it in over Thanksgiving weekend (especially pulling the two purple flaps in on the front as part of it and doing darts in the back to bring in the bodice, then finishing the hem). Here are a couple of pics:
And then tonight I finished my latest little project which I had cut out months ago and only starting sewing together this past weekend - just in time. It is a size 4 and fits perfectly but will not fit for that long (the length is about as short as I'll let her wear and the top has the slit in the front so no back enclosure which means it won't be long before it is too tight to fit over her head). Made from the Kaufmann line of Dr. Seuss fabrics.

Bettyjoe - she used to be so shy in pics but since she has gone to sweet and sassy a couple of times and since she has a very sassy outgoing friend in her class for the summer, she is coming out of her shell. It is so fun to watch her personality blossom in a new direction.

throw a 4 inch ruffle on the dr seuss one and you have a dress you can send her out in without being afraid of showing off her dainties.
