Sorry I didn't have the chance to pop on while at the hospital, I was lurking from my phone but can never seem to post.
Triston Alexander made his debut 08/08/2011 @ 8:05pm after an 18 hour labor and 2 hours of pushing. He was 7lbs 11oz and 21 inches long.
Here are a few pictures until I get my birth story written. Honestly I am ashamed of my birth story because it was almost totally against my birth plan, but what matters most is that I have my healthy baby boy at home with me.

Our first night home.

He is sunning himself due to elevated bilirubin levels
He has a bit of gurd but was told not to worry about it, that it will more than likely resolve itself. He has been a breastfeeding champ-which is a HUGE blessing. We go back to the Pedi tomorrow for another weight check since he is down 7oz since birth and 3 oz in less than 24 hours.
Re: We are home...
He's adorable! Please don't beat yourself up about not following your birth plan. I truly believe that guilt is a wasted emotion. He's out and he's healthy- job well done!
And aren't long labors fun? I was in labor with DD for 44 hours. When the nurse disappeared for 12 hours and I had to track her down to check my cervix, she told me she didn't think I had time to get an epidural. I told her some heads were gonna roll if I didn't get my drugs!

my read shelf:
congrats!!! so cute!!! and from a l&d RN's perspective... birth plans almost NEVER go the way they were originally intended.. but healthy baby=success! you go momma!
OMG he is sooo adorable!! I love the name! Two of my favorite students this year were Tristan and Alex....both so smart, sweet, polite, etc. so hopefully your son will be just like them!
What does that mean that his bilirubin levels are high?

He is adorable!! Congrats! Zoe had elevated bili levels too but it resolved itself after a couple of weeks.
My birth plan was completely opposite of what I wanted so I know how you feel. I wanted a natural, epi free birth and I ended up induced, with an epi, and then c section. Try not to be too hard on yourself! You have a beautiful healthy baby boy and that is all that matters!
He is one handsome little guy! I completely agree that all that matters is that he is here and healthy and you are both doing well, no matter what type of birth you had planned out.
And I wouldn't stress too much about his weight. Maisy was a big baby but lost over 10% and just couldn't gain it back. For the first month, I was there 2x a week with weight checks. Now she's is a tank- 99th percentile for weight!
Congrats!!! I love his name.
Glad you are both doing well. Like others have said, dont beat yourself up over changing your birth plan. You have a healthy, happy baby and both of you are doing well and that is all that matters.
I said I was going to try to go natural and wound up with an epidural. I was totally fine with that at the time and feel fine about it today. I also said I was going to breastfeed and I have been doing ok with that. I am only feeding on one side as the other is out of commission due to some cracking/pain. So I am feeding him on my left side, then giving him a bottle and then pumping both sides. There are times I feel like stopping and just doing formula as it would be so much easier but I want to give him my breast milk as it is good for him.
All in all you are a mom and be thankful for the little bundle of joy you have in your arms.
