We're strongly considering putting carpet down in our house. The hardwoods are uber-squeaky (which we didn't care about pre-baby) plus it'll be nice for DD when she's mobile. I know carpet won't completely take away the squeak but we're hoping it'd help.
Any recommendations for carpet companies to explore? Are those in-home places any good (Empire, Luna)? Home Depot? Bill's Carpet?
Re: Carpet Recs?
We had a horrible experience with Empire and if you look on the BBB website, so did a lot of other people. I'm glad Gracie's family had a good experience. not only did they put holes in the wall, they didn't put down the correct padding and had to come out and put it down again.
We used Lowe's to put down carpet and they were great.
If I remember correctly, after buying our house, we got a quote from Empire to do our basement and it was astronomical. It didn't matter because we ended up putting laminate down ourselves, but just throwing that out there. I know a lot of people have had good luck with Lowes.
